Safety, trust & environment
As a dedicated pet care provider, I prioritize safety, trust, and a nurturing environment in every aspect of my service. I ensure that pets are always supervised, their spaces are clean and hazard-free, and their routines are followed closely to minimize stress. Building trust with both pets and their owners is essential, so I communicate clearly, respect the home, and provide updates as needed. I tailor my care to each pet's individual needs, whether it involves walking, feeding, administering medications, or simply offering companionship. My goal is to create a calm, secure environment where pets feel loved and well cared for, whether in my home or their own.
Information Jamie C. would like to know about your pet
Before walking or sitting your dog(s) I prefer to set up a meet and greet in a neutral location. However, if you are comfortable, it is not 100% necessary. Helpful information to know is: - On walks, do you walk at a brisk pace, or do you allow the animal time to sniff the trees and take in their environment? I like to mimic the way owners walk their dog(s). - How does your dog handle loud noises such as trucks? - Do you use any commands? If so, which ones? - How does your dog handle seeing other animals on the walk? Would you prefer I cross the street if another dog is coming down the same sidewalk? - Is your dog food / treat motivated? If so, is it OK if I bring treats for your dog? (please specify what your dog like? - Has your dog ever shown signs of food aggression? It's OK if he/she has in the past. I just need to know so I can be prepared. - Does your dog have a tendency to try and eat items found on the walk? Thrown out food, garbage, bones, cigarette butts etc. - What does your dog like? What does your dog dislike? - To help alleviate any anxiety you may have about a stranger walking and taking care of your animal, what information would you like to know about me? During drop-ins and home stays: - Is your dog allowed on furniture? - What is your dog's schedule like from day to day (when does he/she eat, go potty, wake up, fall asleep etc.?) - Does your dog have separation anxiety? - What do you feel is important for me to know about your dog?
A typical day
When caring for pets, I engage them in fun and enriching activities tailored to their individual needs, energy levels, and personalities. For dogs, this may include walks, interactive playtime with toys, or games like fetch and tug-of-war. For cats, I provide stimulating activities such as laser pointer play, feather wand games, and puzzle toys to encourage mental and physical engagement. I also make time for calm bonding activities like brushing, petting, or simply relaxing together. My goal is to ensure each pet feels happy, stimulated, and loved throughout our time together.

Pet care experience
I serve the Upper/Lower East side of Milwaukee and Shorewood. **When inquiring about services, it would be very helpful to include an intersection near you so I can look up my travel time prior to speaking with you.** My experience working with animals is quite diverse. I am great with large breeds (such as mastiffs), anxious and shy dogs, high-energy pooches and have a lot of experience walking and taking care of multiple dogs at the same time. I have volunteered and have taken training classes at The Milwaukee Humane Society for many years. I understand dog behavior and their needs and welcome senior and special needs dogs. If your dog is high energy, I am happy to tire him/her out through walking, playing, and grooming. I find comfort in providing quality care for dogs and understand the need for owners to have peace of mind while they are gone. If you have other types of animals I am happy to watch over them and care for them as well - all animals are special! Please check out my calendar for my availability. I have a BSW in Social Work and I am a Graduate student saving up for classes in a Genetic Counseling program in either Spain or Australia. I am currently taking time off from school to save money so that I do not need to take out so many loans. **Basset Hounds and Black Cats hold a very special place in my heart and I offer a small discount for pure breed hounds and black cats.**

Reviews

Jamie is a very conscientious and thoughtful sitter! She recently stayed with my mini zoo - 2 dogs & 2 cats - for a weekend, and was great with my senior dog and my anxious dog that is on meds. Thank you, Jamie - we will see you again soon! 😊

Jamie took great care of our zoo :) We look forward to working with her again.

Jamie was great! She helped make my usually anxious cat calm and comfortable. She was also great at communicating. I would 100% recommend her!

Jamie was extremely detail oriented and took wonderful care of our two kitties. Very easy to communicate with and felt extremely dependable. We and the cats are looking forward to booking in the future!
