Pet care experience

15+ yrs of experience in pet care!

Hello! Our home is fixed from Hurricane Ida and I am taking bookings again. Currently I work at a Vet in Larchmont, NY and I have previous experience in a veterinarian setting, animal boarding facility, dog day care and of course my own pets my entire life. I can take your dog for walks, feed, and play with your loved one! I love cats also! I am currently enrolled at a local university to complete my bachelor's of behavioral science and enrolled in the Penn Foster Vet Tech Program while working full time. I love all dogs but I live in my parents/landlords home with three dogs already so I can only host ONE 🐶doggy guest at a time for now. If I know the doggy guests I will host more than one at a time. For new doggy guests, I require meet and greets prior to the stay for safety of all parties. Each dog and person have unique connections so I do require this before booking. My home is a constant playdate for social dogs. However, if you dog is uncomfortable around multiple dogs or children, it could be overwhelming. I also like to introduce my dogs one by one so everyone is comfortable. Playful dogs really enjoy my dogs' company because it is like a constant playdate for them! I currently can only host ONE DOG up to 40 lbs depending on the activity leval as my oldest dog has leg issues. Submissive dogs no problem! I also ask for proof of up to date vaccines and an updated fecal test for the protection of all parties. (Rabies, Bordetella & distemper/parvo) NEW UPDATE: As mentioned above, I have work at veterinarian hospital. There have been dozens of canine influenza outbreaks in NYC and Stamford. I recommend getting the CIV VX if your dog is around other dogs such as dog parks, groomers and other dog sitter's dogs but speak to your veterinarian about this issue. About this sitter: I work at a vet in Larchmont and have previous experience in a veterinarian setting, and dog boarding facility. I am not afraid of any breeds and I absolutely love all dogs. I foster, and volunteer for shelters for fun on the side. Making a dog happy one by one is my passion. After witnessing some pitiful things behind closed doors of boarding facilities in the area, I wanted to do pet sitting for families who want a responsible, friendly, experienced dog lover. Also I am enrolled at a local university to complete my bachelor's of human behavior and an associates in radiation therapy soon. I have successfully fostered a few kittens and puppies and was able to find them their forever homes. I really take the time to meet the needs of every animal I watch. Their happiness is the most important to me. Why I love dog sitting Since I was able to recognize a dog, I have loved dogs all my life. I have seen the terrible things that go on in boarding facilities and how scared animals can get that I want to provide a fun, safe and stress free environment for my clients. Meet my pets Four dogs Emma beagle mix 8 y/o spayed beagle/terrier Riley 14 y/o neutered male Pippa puppy 2 y/old spayed terrier/ Chihuahua Molly5year old (rescued) Lhasa poo spayed About my yard We have a backyard that is fenced in and about 16 by 20 feet. My experience administering medication Depeding on dog temperament and what kind of medication. I don't have experience with insulin but I work at a Veterinarian Hospital and had to give oral meds daily.

Jamie is amazing with our Skye! I’ve actually known Jamie since I was a kid and she is an incredible person so I knew right away that I could trust her with our fur baby even though I’ve never been able to leave our pup with anyone in the past. Jamie is super responsive to us when we ask how Skye is doing. She is caring and loving towards our pup, she sends pics and makes sure Skye is getting along well while we are away with the other dogs. She is responsible and makes sure Skye gets her medicine, we already have Jamie booked for our next trip and don’t plan on using anyone else ever again! Thanks so much for being the best pet sitter ever!

Jamie took such great care of our dog Cokie. I only wish we lived closer to Jamie to continue having be part of our puppies life! She is so skilled with Animals (works at a Vet's office) Has great instincts about dogs and is so bright and thoughtful. Jamie is a gem and you are lucky to have the opportunity to work with her in the Westchester area. Thank you Jamie and Rover too for connecting us.

I feel like the luckiest person ever to have found Jamie! I have left my dog, Annie, with Jamie many, many times over the past two years. Annie practically jumps out of my car when we turn down Jamie’s road. Jamie loves dogs, and she takes amazing care of my dog when I’m gone. She always sends pictures of Annie, and Annie loves going to her house. If you need a pet sitter, this is the best sitter in the world. It makes me so happy knowing that my dog is cared for and loved while we are out of town. She is the BEST!

Pets

A typical day

Here's where we'll take our walks Walks around the neighborhood or dog park. Your dog's sleeping arrangement Crate, or own dog bed or I don't mind sharing my bed. Which ever you prefer. Time I'll spend with your dog I work during the week 8 to 5 so my schedule is based on that with Fridays and Sundays off. Time I'll spend with your dog I work during the day 11am to 6pm so if the dog can come to work with me, they wont be alone. If its the weekend, I will be with him or her, all day except to step out to take care of my own pets and daughter. Extra house-sitting services I can bring in the mail.

0 to 15 lbs
16 to 40 lbs
Spayed and neutered dogs only
No females in heat
Jamie can host up to 2 pets per night
I would like to know each dog's temperament and any important medical information. I really don't have breed preferences. I love all dogs. If you need a dog to board at my house, the home owners like for them to be on the smaller side, dog and child friendly. My daughter is 15 years old and good with dogs for the most part but the dog has to be good with a typical child. If I am traveling pet sitting at your house, I just want the dog to be comfortable with me in their territory. No size restrictions when I am pet traveling sitting. I only have some pet size restrictions because I currently reside with my parents and its their house, their rules unfortunately.
Each sitter joining Rover needs to pass a background check. And by booking on Rover, you can get photo & message updates, 24/7 support, and reimbursement for eligible vet care.
