Reviews

I want to preface this by saying I appreciate that this sitter was willing to accept a last-minute booking, and I’m grateful that on the first visit, she was calm and helpful when my internet connection had been disrupted and she was able to help get it reconnected, which restored my alarm and cameras. That said, the overall experience was disappointing and fell short of the basic expectations for paid pet care. When we first discussed the booking, she voiced frustration over the Rover pricing, despite the fact that it was based on the visit rate she had originally set. I clarified that I didn’t require extended visits and that tipping would be provided after services were rendered. This exchange gave me some hesitation, but I chose to move forward because I urgently needed coverage. Unfortunately, those concerns proved valid. On day one, her visits were each no more than five minutes long—despite being scheduled for 30 minutes. While I respect that she didn’t bring her driver into the home, it was clear from my camera footage that she made minimal effort to interact with my dog. He’s small, energetic, and needs more than just a quick step outside. She barely let him out before leaving again, and showed no real engagement or stimulation during the visit, even though he was eager to play. I let it go the first time, thinking maybe she was settling in or unsure of my dog. But the second visit was more of the same—quick in and out, no meaningful interaction, and nowhere near the 30 minutes I paid for. The real concern came on Sunday morning. She texted at 8 a.m., and I replied three minutes later to turn off the alarm. In that time, she had already left. There was no call, no follow-up, no attempt to notify me or wait for access to the house. I had also messaged her the day before to cancel her final visit Sunday evening, planning to come home early, and asked her to update the visit in the app—which she never did. Even worse, she either completely skipped or faked Sunday morning’s visit, as she never entered the house at all. After this, I had to change the locks and alarm codes for peace of mind. I sent her a message to express my concerns and let her know not to return. Her response was, “I’m on my way,” but at that point, I had already decided not to continue with her. To be clear, I didn’t expect anything above and beyond—just basic care, timely visits, and some interaction with my dog. What I got instead felt more like someone doing the bare minimum to check a box while hoping I wouldn’t notice. I ultimately filed a complaint with Rover for services not rendered. If you’re looking for someone to truly care for and engage with your pet, I would not recommend this sitter based on my experience.

I’ve booked with Rover quite a bit and also work on Rover and this wasn’t a great booking. I usually go above and beyond making sure other peoples animals are taken care of and this definitely wasn’t the case with this booking. It looks like the cats were fed at least which I’m grateful for but there were empty food cans left out instead of being thrown away and the litter boxes weren’t scooped at all so the house reeked when we got home. I got no notes and only one picture between the two visits. Wouldn’t book again.
Jamie A. cancelled a booking 2 days before it was scheduled to begin.

Jamie did a wonderful job with my fur babies. She was able to help me with them on short notice due to me having to have surgery.
