Ratings and reviews
I needed pet sitter for a trip out of the country. James was a wonderful pick to watch my dog for a week where she got top notch attention and care. Really appreciated the pictures and videoed he sent while out of town. My girl got to play in his giant backyard and the other dogs got along well so overall a very positive experience and I highly recommend James.

James and his wife took amazing care of Maggie. She’s shy around other dogs and they made sure she felt comfortable and gave her lots of snuggles. They even kept her eyes clean, which is challenge. We’ll definitely be back!!

We are new to Rover and had only been able to leave our Great Pyrenees with family members for super short periods. We’d also kenneled our little Pekingese and had begun to realize that because of his age we needed to find some other less stressful way of housing him while we vacationed. Our 2year old Great Pyrenees and our almost 17year old Pekingese stayed with James and his wife and their care was fantastic. The fully fenced in back yard was a paradise for our Great Pyrenees! We were excited to book our next trip/adventure knowing we’ve found great care for our fur-babies!

Amazing!!! Zuko enjoys his staycation while at James's place. I never worry that he is being taken care of. I will never take him anywhere else. I hesitate to leave a good review, then his place will fill up, lol!. Seriously they are the best!!!

James and his wife, Julia were excellent at communication. Their yard is very spacious - seems like a great place to run around for the dogs! thank you both!
I cannot recommend James as a Rover sitter. Before booking, I specifically requested that Honey, my 14-year-old dog with severe leg issues, be the only dog in his care. When we arrived, there were four other dogs present. I immediately expressed my concern and again explained that Honey cannot safely play with other dogs, cannot go on walks, and needed to be separated because of her age, mobility issues, and desire to keep up with activities she physically cannot handle. Despite these instructions, Honey was not separated from the other dogs and was taken on two walks. After the very first day, she came home limping. We also left clear feeding instructions. Each day, we marked her food bowl and placed her food, treats, water bowl, and leash in the same specific way so it would be obvious whether she had been fed. For three consecutive days, her setup remained untouched, indicating she was not fed and never received any of the treats we provided. Communication was also poor. I was told I would receive photos and updates. No photos were sent on the first day. On the second day, after waiting several hours and requesting an update myself, I received a photo that appeared to show Honey pressed against a wall, which was concerning rather than reassuring. When Honey came home on the second day, she immediately drank an excessive amount of water, leading us to worry she had not been given adequate access to water throughout the day. We also informed James that Honey suffers from separation anxiety and should not be left alone. However, when my husband arrived to pick her up, Honey was alone in the house. James's stepmother, who was outside watering flowers, told my husband that James was next door with the other dogs. When I later questioned James, he claimed he had been in the backyard, which conflicted with what we had been told. The most troubling incident occurred on the third day. My husband left work early to go get Honey. When Honey was picked up and brought home, she began vomiting blood. Whether or not that was directly related to her stay, the combination of ignored care instructions, lack of communication, concerns about feeding and hydration, failure to accommodate her medical limitations, and conflicting information about supervision left us extremely upset and disappointed. Honey is a senior dog with special needs, and we trusted that those needs would be respected. Unfortunately, that was not our experience.
