I have a flexible schedule and am able to meet the needs of dogs and cats in my community. I am happy to have the opportunity to take care of pets because I am passionate about their care and am grateful for the break from my studies and the boost to my well-being.

Safety, trust & environment
To take care of a pet in their own home I like to take the extra time to be mindful of their well-being and safety. This involves always checking fence gates are locked before letting a pet outside, walking around a pet’s area to make sure there aren’t any risks to the pet like food on the counters or access to trash cans, and always dedicating spare time to make sure everything is running smoothly for the pets and their owners. I always like to leave a home in better condition than when I arrived and maintain good communication with owners to ensure they are happy and confident in their pet care.
Information James S. would like to know about your pet
Important things to know ahead of time include the breed, size and temperament of your dog. If I am walking your dog, then it is useful to know ahead of time how well your dog gets on with other dogs out on walks, and your dog's activity level and preferred walking time. And of course it's important to know your dog's favourite toys, treats and the things that make your dog feel safe and secure in and/or out of the house.
A typical day
Depending on the size of the dog, I like to drive dogs to some of my favourite places, such as the Coombes in Barkham. When I'm house sitting, I enjoy playing with the dog's favourite toys, playing outside, having cuddles and relaxing, and giving treats.

Pet care experience
Since the age of 16 I have taken care of many kinds of cats and dogs. Initially, my family raised 2 litters of 15 puppies total that I helped take care of and train for their furever homes. Since then I have developed my passion for pet care by taking care of small dogs, like chihuahuas and shih tzus, and big dogs, like huskies and retrievers. I have done dog boarding, dog walking, house sitting and drop-ins for cats and dogs. I have cared extensively for senior dogs including a dog on palliative care that needed constant care and attention (and cuddles). I am comfortable taking care of dogs and cats with a variety of needs, with the energy to keep up with those ready to run and play and the calming and caring nature for those who take life a little slower.
Reviews
James provided Ash will a good long walk and he came happy and tired. Would recommend!

James is an amazing cat sitter! I was away for five nights and never felt anxious about leaving my cat, Jude. He kept in great contact with regular updates and photos. When I got home, Jude was relaxed and clearly well cared for. I’d 100% book James again and highly recommend him!

James is awesome. Juno obviously warmed to James quite quickly and we came home to find the flat very tidy. Would recommend to anyone!

James was brilliant. He will be my first choice and If he isn't available I'll be disappointed. My cat very happy too. Very highly recommended.
