I’ve grown up with dogs my entire life and have always been hands-on with their care — from daily walks and basic training to grooming and overall routines. I currently have a 6-year-old dog, Charlie, who is friendly, well-trained, and enjoys being around other dogs. That said, I can easily keep dogs separated if you prefer your pet not interact with others. I work from home, which allows me to provide plenty of attention, supervision, and companionship throughout the day rather than long periods alone. I trained my own dog using Robert Cabral’s training methods, so I’m comfortable reinforcing structure, calm behavior, and consistency — and I’m equally happy to follow whatever routines, commands, or preferences your dog is used to. I have a fenced yard, provide daily walks, and prioritize a calm, safe environment. I’m reliable, communicative, and treat every pet as if they were my own. You can expect regular updates and peace of mind knowing your dog is well cared for.

James was a godsend! Ours was a last minute booking due to an emergency back home so we did not have time for a meet and greet ahead. It was hard to leave our sweet girl with a stranger, but James was very reassuring and had plans to handle whatever we needed. He was great at sending us pictures and updates and we quickly realized we were in good hands. On day 2 our typically timid pup went right up to the door, tail wagging. He was great at communicating with us and very understanding when we explained variables that led to us needing flexibility with pickup time. We had a great experience being here to support our son graduating from basic training at Ft Jackson- and knowing our sweet girl was in good hands made it all the better!
I have known James his entire life. He takes excellent care of his dog, Charlie, and he is one of the kindest and most trustworthy people I know. I would absolutely recommend him as a responsible and loving pet caregiver.

Schedule
Pet care fits very naturally into my daily routine. I work from home, so I’m able to provide frequent attention, supervision, and care throughout the day rather than leaving pets alone for long stretches. Daily walks, playtime, feeding, and check-ins are built into my schedule, and I’m flexible with timing to match your pet’s normal routine. Because I’m home most of the day, I can easily adjust for puppies, senior dogs, or pets that need extra attention or consistency.

Safety, trust & environment
Safety and trust are always my top priorities. In my home, pets are supervised, kept in a calm and clean environment, and cared for according to their normal routines. I have a securely fenced yard, and outdoor time is always monitored. Dogs receive regular walks, playtime, and downtime based on their energy level and needs. I follow any instructions you provide regarding feeding, medications, training cues, or household rules, and I’m comfortable maintaining existing routines. If requested, dogs can be kept separate from my own dog to ensure everyone is comfortable and safe.

A typical day
A typical day here includes morning and evening walks, outdoor playtime, and lots of time spent hanging out. Your dog won’t be left alone for long periods and will be treated like one of our own. We balance activity with plenty of rest and are happy to follow your dog’s usual routine to keep them comfortable and happy.
