Hi, my names is James.
I’ve been around dogs for as long as I can remember. I grew up with my family dogs Daisy the Shih Tzu for 14 great years, and caring for her taught me everything from daily routines to understanding her weird little quirks that make each dog unique. Since then, I’ve become the go‑to dog sitter for my friends, regularly helping with walks and overnight stays. I genuinely love getting to know each dog’s unique personality and making sure they feel safe, happy, and comfortable. I’m patient, attentive, and know the importance of taking care of your dog as if it was my own. Your pet’s comfort and routine matter to me, and I’m committed to giving them the same love and attention they expect at home.

James was absolutely wonderful with Mika! He watched him for 4 nights/5 days and gave me daily updates, which really put my mind at ease while I was away. I could tell from his communication and actions that Mika was genuinely well cared for. What really stood out to me was how attentive James was to Mika’s health. He noticed that something seemed wrong with Mika’s eye and even contacted Rover to inquire about it. That showed me that he was paying close attention, took the situation seriously, and genuinely cared about Mika’s well-being. I felt completely comfortable knowing Mika was in James’s care, and I would highly recommend James to anyone looking for a responsible, caring, and communicative sitter. Mika was in great hands!

For some time, I have witnessed James L's compassionate and loving care for numerous breeds of dogs including Golden Doodles, Labs, mutts and Shih Tzus to name a few. James' experience includes both puppies and end of life scenarios. In all situations James has taken great care to insure each pet a loving, safe, happy and needs-based environment while complying with each owners wishes. James loves our Shih Tzu like she’s his own dog! He loves spending time with her and makes sure that she’s taken care of according to our instructions. He absolutely loves dogs and I would trust him to watch our dog anytime.
James is the best!!! My little yorky (peaches) loves going on walks with James. He is super reliable and I would absolutely recommend using him!!!!

Your dog’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I live in a clean, well‑organized 1‑bedroom apartment (about 500 sq ft), which creates a calm, controlled, and quiet environment that’s perfect for dogs who thrive on consistency and attention. My apartment is a short walk from multiple parks, so your dog will have plenty of space to play. The space is fully pet‑proofed and there is plenty of space for your dog’s bed/crate.

Your dog starts the day with a relaxed walk, fresh water, and breakfast. During the day, they will hang out with me in my apartment (if they are being boarded) with a healthy a mix of playtime, walks/trips to the park, naps, and plenty of attention. I follow their routine, keep things calm and comfortable, and send regular photo updates so you always feel connected. Evenings wrap up with another walk before dinner, some quality time, a pre bed-time walk, and a peaceful wind‑down before bed.
