James watched my girl while I was out of town. He was an excellent communicator, provided plenty of photos, and took great care of my pup. We’ll definitely hire James again!

I have used Rover services for the last decade whenever I cannot find family/friends/neighbors to help out. We always do a meet and greet a few days before. James said he felt fine when we did ours. Never have I had a Rover frantically text me asking if I had friends/family near by to help because our (granted, large berner ) puppy was imposing and barking at him when he showed up. This was 5 min into him getting to the house. While I was on a plane on the runway. I felt extremely uncomfortable having to coach him through taking care of them - I get that sometimes dogs can be imposing. It was clear in my instructions via rover and my paper version ( left in the house) that my puppy in particular has never been left alone for more than 3 hours. I understand people have unforeseen circumstances - in this case I was told it was a personal apartment flood that needed attention. Understood. However I was also told that “I will check in on them throughout the night”. We have a ring and a smart door lock - we can see when someone comes in and out (this was disclosed to the sitter - location of all cameras - there is only one entry/exit to the house). We know the dogs were left alone for 5 and then 8 and then 9 hours with 20min-1 hr recess in between. While paid for house and pet sitting. I see there are multiple photos for the bookings. But it was very much an “in and out” situation. Would not rebook.
