My Routine: Full-Time Care & Companionship Being retired means your dog is my primary focus, not a side project. Because I am home all day, I provide the constant companionship and supervision that rescue dogs and seniors often need to feel secure. Continuous Supervision: I don't have an "office" to go to. Whether it’s potty breaks, play sessions, or just a quiet nap by my feet, your dog will have a human present throughout the day. Structured Days: Having managed a four-dog household for 30 years, I thrive on routine. We follow a consistent schedule for feedings, walks, and medication to ensure every guest feels stable and settled. Active Presence: My schedule is flexible, allowing me to adapt to your dog’s specific energy levels—whether that means frequent backyard exploration or extra snuggle time on the sofa.

A Secure, 3.25–Acre Haven My home is designed for dogs to be dogs, safely. I reside on 3.25 acres of land, providing your pet with plenty of room to explore, sniff, and run. For your peace of mind, my property is fully fenced, ensuring that even the most curious explorers stay safe and secure within my boundaries. Safety & Supervision With 30 years of experience managing multi–dog households, safety is my second nature. Never Unattended: Because I am retired, dogs are supervised during all outdoor play sessions. Safe Integration: I use my deep understanding of pack dynamics to ensure all interactions are calm and positive. Secure Transitions: I maintain a double–gate mentality to ensure no "door–bolting" accidents occur. A Rescue–Ready Environment I understand that a new environment can be stressful, especially for rescues. My home is set up to be a low–stress sanctuary: Quiet Spaces: I have dedicated areas where dogs can retreat if they need a break or a nap. Senior-Friendly: No steep stairs or slippery floors to worry about—just a flat, comfortable layout perfect for aging joints. Clean & Maintained: I keep a tidy, hazard–free home to ensure your pet’s health and hygiene are prioritized.

Information James & Charissa C. would like to know about your pet
To ensure a safe and harmonious environment for everyone, it is vital to share details about your pet’s unique personality and history. Since I manage a multi-dog household, I need to know how your dog typically interacts with others, their prey drive, and if they have any specific triggers or "resource guarding" tendencies with toys or food. Additionally, please provide information regarding their vaccination status, current flea/tick prevention, and any medical needs or mobility issues. Understanding their typical routine and comfort level with new people helps me create a low-stress, "rescue-ready" experience tailored just for them.

Fun & Enrichment Your pet will enjoy a rotating schedule of activities tailored to their energy level. We’ll spend time exploring my 3.25-acre property with supervised "sniffari" walks, engaging in energetic games of fetch, or practicing gentle enrichment exercises. For high-energy dogs, there is plenty of room for full-speed sprints, while seniors can enjoy leisurely sunbathing and quiet companionship on the deck. Whether it's chasing balls or enjoying belly rubs in the shade, I ensure every dog feels stimulated, happy, and loved.

Reviews

I was so happy to have found Char and James. They are in a convenient location right off of 285, and have an amazing fenced property that my dogs loved. It was a bit last-minute, but we were able to do a meet and greet and get a stay on the calendar easily. The stay was only a weekend, but they sent several updates with pictures, and my dogs came back home tired which is always a sign that they had a great time. I will definitely book with them again. :-)

James and Charissa did a terrific job of looking after my pup for a week. They gave me daily notes and photos, and it was easy to see that my dog was well-treated and was thoroughly enjoying himself while under their care. I will definitely call on them again the next time I need a sitter for whatever length of time, be it overnight or for multiple weeks.

They have a huge property fully fenced that our dog loved! Sent lots of pictures and very helpful and proactive with coordinating. Clearly dog lovers! It was a wonderful vacation for our pup, we will definitely send her back! Our dog also has medical needs which they handled without any trouble.

We had a great experience with James and Char. They were super responsive and flexible in accommodating our last minute booking. Love that they have a huge yard for our big dogs to roam and play. Thanks for watching our pups!
