Availability
I am available seven days per week - in off-peak travel seasons I spend some weekends in Spain, so my availability is changeable. As a full-time dog walker/sitter/trainer/carer I can be as flexible as you need me to be. I'm here to help you!

I love being outside and can go for as long a walk as your dog can handle! I will follow your lead, though it is worth noting that my training style doesn’t include treats - if you insist, I will use them.

Information James C. would like to know about your pet
I need to know the language that the dog is used to, as in, the words that the dog knows and responds to - some people say ‘here’ when others say ‘come’ or ‘heel’. Triggers are super important, to be forewarned is to be forearmed. Limitations and capabilities; so I can pitch the exercise just right.
A typical day
Stimulation is the name of the game, sometimes I think I’m more into chasing balls and frisbees than the dogs! Locally, I have King Edward VII Park close by and it’s my favourite haunt - it’s super relaxed and away from any main roads! Usually, I’ll stay close to where the dog lives though.

Pet care experience
My name is James and I’ve been inactive on Rover for a little while because I have been fully booked for my availability while I have been busy completing my Grooming Certification and working on my Advanced Diploma in Small Animal Care. I have also completed a course expanding on Canine Behaviour. In short, I have taken care of dogs and cats my whole life. I love it! ABOUT ME In London, I live with my flatmate and his Pomeranian. There are also two British Shorthair Cats - one is his and one is mine! I have also adopted a Husky in 2026 - because I don’t already have enough on my plate! I believe that engaged animals are happy animals; it’s not unusual to see me chasing balls and frisbees… sometimes more so than the dogs! I seem to have a knack for puppies, and training on the whole, it is worth noting that my training style doesn’t include treats - if you insist, I will use them. I’m an outdoorsy person and being born and raised in Manchester means I am not afraid of a little rain! I have completed 9 months work experience as a Veterinary Technician and achieved the Level 2 Domestic Animal Care Diploma. I plan to achieve the Level 3 Domestic Animal Care Diploma by the end of 2026. As well as Dog Walking, Catsitting, and Housesitting I work as a Freelance Writer (typically corporate copy for websites, blogs, articles, and thought-pieces), and I am an artist too - a struggling one. AREA As most of my clients come to me from referrals, I have never defined a specific area that I work in… I have client dogs in Neasden, Farringdon, Vauxhall, Bethnal Green, Kennington, Clapham, Chelsea, Putney, Barnes, and Richmond to name a few! LOGISTICS I never walk with more than three dogs, which is comfortable because I’ve been walked my own three dogs together for almost 14 years - two have passed away now. I do NOT charge for walking second dogs that permanently live at the same address. I’m there anyway, and get to hang out with another dog! SAFEGUARDING I have an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) Certificate. My ID has been verified, but I am happy to share it with clients, along with proof of where I live, I always share these documents before accepting any house-keys. The next step is to book a Meet & Greet which will allow us to determine our compatibility.

Reviews

James was great, Reginald was a bit nervous at first but he was patient and let Reginald go at his own pace. Came back home very tired so had clearly had a good time.
James was very attentive, communicative and super kind from the first contact with us. He went above and beyond on every aspect and took very good care of Apollo, gave him lots of love, affection and joy, always giving us photo updates and detailed messages while we were away for a week. Our baby 🐱 came back even more affectionate and we will definitely be very happy when he needs to spend a few days with James again (and of course, with Lychee too!).

James is kind, reliable and very communicative. Our little girl absolutely loves him and he seems to bring a zen version of her when she's normally a bit boisterous. I would not hesitate to use him again!

James was very communicative and open minded during this time. Not only did he take excellent care of our beloved feline friends, but he also sent us adorable pictures and videos of our cats regularly, which put our minds at ease. He spent quality time playing with them and providing companionship, which our cats clearly enjoyed. Thank you James.
