Doggy Daycare with Larry & Jay 🐾❤️
Dogs have always been a huge part of my life. My parents had a dog before I was even born, and when I arrived she quickly became my first best friend. That bond started a lifelong love for our four-legged companions, and caring for them has always come naturally to me. Over the years I’ve raised and cared for many dogs including two Rottweilers, a Pitbull mix, a Boxer, and a Red Heeler. Today I share my home with my dog Larry, and together we’ve created a safe, happy place where other dogs can come spend the day. Altogether I have around 35 years of experience living with and caring for dogs of different breeds, personalities, and energy levels. Larry and I live in a home with a fully fenced large backyard and a fenced front yard, giving dogs plenty of room to safely play and explore. Our days usually include walks, backyard playtime, and trips to the dog park. If you’re comfortable with it, we also occasionally do beach visits or easy hikes for dogs that enjoy a little adventure. I work from home, so your dog will have supervision and companionship throughout the day. I’m happy to provide photos and video updates so you can see how your pup’s day is going. To keep things safe and fun for everyone, we host a maximum of two guest dogs at a time. Before daycare begins, we’ll schedule a quick dog park compatibility meet-up followed by a short in-home introduction to make sure all the dogs get along well and everyone feels comfortable. Pretty sure Strummer is currently looking for new sunglasses and a way to move in with Jamaal permanently. He had such a blast at dog beach that he actually gave me side eye when I told him it was time to go home. 10/10, even if I’ve been replaced by the "cool beach uncle."
Jamal has been pet-sitting our dog Lulu, and he does a fantastic job. He sends us pictures when he takes her on walks, checks in periodically, and is very flexible even when we ask for last-minute help. We highly recommend him—he’s an amazing dog sitter for anyone to consider!
Jamaal took very good care of my Lola while I was sick. He walked her, bathed her and fed her during that difficult time. I'm so glad I found him on Rover. I highly recommend him and he will treat your pet with love and compassion.
I can't recommend him enough as a dog sitter! He has one dog of his own and absolutely adores him. It really shows in the way he cares for every dog around him. He's naturally loving, affectionate and incredibly patient with animals. He's great with all kinds of dogs and seems to understand their personalities and needs right away. What really stands out if his attention to detail - he's very conscientious about making sure dogs always have fresh water, are fed on schedule, get their treats, and most importantly are safe, comfortable and exercised. You will see he genuinely enjoys spending time with dogs and treats them like family. Any dog in his care will be loved, well looked after and safe. I trust him completely with my 2 dogs.

Schedule
Your dog’s day will be built around comfort, play, and plenty of attention. Since I work from home, your pup will never be left alone for long periods and will get lots of interaction throughout the day. We usually start the morning with some outdoor time in the fenced yard so everyone can stretch their legs and burn off some energy. Throughout the day dogs can expect a mix of: • Backyard playtime in our fully fenced yard • Walks around the neighborhood • Dog park visits (if you’re comfortable with that) • Relaxing indoor time where dogs can rest and feel at home For dogs that enjoy a little adventure, we sometimes do beach trips or easy hikes, but only with owner approval. I keep the number of dogs small so every pup gets plenty of attention, supervision, and care. I’m also happy to send photo and video updates so you can see how your dog is doing during the day. My goal is simple: when you pick up your dog, they’ve had a fun, safe, and happy day and are excited to come back again.

Safety, trust & environment
I have extensive experience caring for both small and large dogs and have always trained my own dogs using positive reinforcement methods. I believe strongly that dogs learn best through encouragement, patience, and consistency. I do not believe in any form of harsh or abusive training. In my experience, the best way to build a relationship with a dog is by earning their trust and building their confidence. My home is a safe, calm environment where dogs are treated like family. Larry, my dog, is very friendly and well socialized, and he helps set the tone for a relaxed and positive atmosphere for visiting pups. Before any stay or daycare visit, I prefer to do a meet and greet so we can make sure everyone feels comfortable and the dogs get along well. Safety, comfort, and positive experiences for every dog in my care are always my top priorities. Once you meet Larry, you’ll understand exactly what I mean. The environment here is built around trust, respect, play, and lots of love for every pup that walks through the door.

A typical day
Dogs staying with me get a full day of activity, attention, and structure. My day usually starts early around 5:00 AM with my dog Larry. If your pup is dropped off by about 6:00 AM, they’re welcome to join us for our morning trip to Grape Street Dog Park in South Park where they can run, socialize, and burn off some energy to start the day. If mornings aren’t your thing, no worries at all. We usually make another trip to the park around lunchtime. Throughout the day we also take walks around Azalea Park, which is right near my home and perfect for relaxed walks and sniff time. With owner permission, I also love taking dogs on fun outings like Ocean Beach Dog Beach, Fiesta Island Dog Park, and walks around Lake Murray. We sometimes do moderate neighborhood hikes on the trails near my home as well, which is about a three-mile scenic route. Every dog that stays with me gets plenty of exercise, attention, and positive interaction. My goal is to give your dog a safe, fun day so they come home happy, relaxed, and well cared for. ❤️

- To make sure every pup has a safe and fun stay, I like to learn a little about their personality and behavior with other dogs. My dog Larry is very friendly and enjoys meeting new dogs, but he does best with pups that have good social manners. Dogs that are overly aggressive, very dominant, or that frequently hump other dogs usually aren’t the best match for our home. Please let me know about your dog’s play style, energy level, and how they typically interact with other dogs so I can make sure it’s a good fit for everyone.
