Hi! I’m Jali, a lifelong animal lover with a background in cat rescue and local experience working as a HR and shelter manager at The Pixie Project here in Portland. I’ve cared for animals of all temperaments, from shy cats to dogs with histories of abuse, and my rover experience includes bunnies and other small animals. Whether it’s a quirky cat or a dog who needs a little extra patience, I truly love them all and love forming bonds and trust with them. I started my rescue journey in New York City, where I volunteered with local cat groups and was featured in The New York Times for my work with homeless cats. After moving back to Portland, I continued that passion with professional experience at our local shelter. After being laid off due to budget cuts, I have been facing a pretty tough job market in PDX compared to NYC.. I also realize how much I missed caring for the pets in our community -That’s why I’m excited to take on new clients through Rover! More about Me: Before working in animal care, I spent five years in corporate America in New York City with WeWork, Soho House, and Ernst & Young. I also have years of trusted experience house-sitting and caring for pets in both NYC and Portland. I’m reliable, communicative, and love keeping pet parents updated with photos and notes. A quick note about my rates and services: i can proudly say this is my full-time profession. I approach every booking with the same level of dedication and reliability I gave to my corporate career- if not more because I’m caring for your home and your beloved fur babies. My rates are thoughtfully set to reflect the professionalism, trustworthiness, and extra care I provide. Beyond pet care, I’m happy to help with household tasks and always aim to leave your space even better than you left it. I’m also open to discussing Longer Term for those who travel and have a more flexible lifestyle - i plan up to a year ahead. In addition to House/Pet sitting I also offer drop ins and run a weekly M-F walk schedule, my clients rotate days each week based on their Office days. Once a relationship is established and if your pups are the adventurous type, I’d love to take them on day trips in my car for a little extra fun and enrichment! Thank you!! Excited to hear from you!
