I’ve been taking care of cats and dogs my entire life. At 18, I became a veterinary assistant and learned how to upgrade my level of knowledge and care for pets as well as learn how to take care of bunnies and a variety of reptiles. My veterinary knowledge and experience really helped my level of understanding pets in a multitude of ways whether it’s understand their social cues, behaviors, or even if there’s a medical episode happening which can be hard to notice. My current 2 dogs are both trained in which I personally trained one of them myself. Over the years, I’ve learned how to crate train dogs, correct behaviors the proper way, and trick-train. I do also know how to teach dogs a variety of words as a form of behavior training. I’ve also taken care of many senior dogs and cats, ranging from seniors with minimal health issues to a variety of health issues. I am skilled in administering medications as well. I also ensure that all the pets I take care of get lots of love, attention, and that they are in a stress and fear free environment.

This was my first time booking with Jake and I have to say, his attention to detail is incredible. When I first contacted him, he went in depth about all the information he would need in order to take care of my dog. During his visits, Jake would send me multiple updates including pictures and was very receptive when I told him about my dogs needs. I was very surprised at how easily Jake and my dog were together. He is normally not the friendliest and needs some warming up to get to know, yet Jake and him bonded incredibly fast. I have no doubts that Jake is a great caretaker and would recommend him for anyone and I will be rebooking.
Jake has been absolutely fantastic, and I can’t recommend him highly enough. I’ve used him multiple times and he consistently goes above and beyond every single time. He’s incredibly trustworthy, reliable, and communicative, which gives me real peace of mind when I’m away. He keeps me updated, is always dependable, and most importantly, he is amazing with my animals. It’s obvious that he genuinely cares and treats them with the same attention and care that I would. Nigel and Daisy absolutely adore him, which says a lot because as pet parents we know our animals are usually the best judges of character. Trusting someone with your pets is a big deal, but trusting someone with access to your home is an even bigger one, and I’ve never had a second thought with Jake. I always feel completely comfortable knowing my pets and my home are in good hands. Finding someone you fully trust with both is not easy, and Jake has exceeded my expectations in every way. I truly can’t say enough good things about him and will continue using him again and again.
We would definitely recommend Jake for taking care of your of your pets. Unlike many boarding kennels, they are not left in their crates for extended periods of time. We know this because Jake commented on habits our dogs have he wouldn't have known about if they were crated. Because he watches them in his home, we learned some things the kennel never shared - probably because no one was there to observe. Since this was his first time watching them, he would text us if there was a behavior or anything health related he noticed to ensure it was normal behavior. He obviously loves dogs and the fact that he has experience as a tech vet helped us to feel comfortable leaving our babies with him.
Jake is a wonderful sitter, I could tell he’s a very experienced sitter as he owns several dogs himself and was watching a couple other dogs as well along with mine. He updated me throughout my trip and my dog was in good hands.
He did a good job
Jake came through for us last minute when we needed someone to watch Rocky during a quick trip to Orlando for our niece’s graduation. He was responsive, sent pictures and updates, and helped give us peace of mind while we were away. We really appreciated his willingness to help on short notice.

I am always home and available anytime and any day. I am available for any type of service needed and am always willing to work things out with existing or potential clients.

Safety, trust & environment
I do not have a fenced backyard so I will ensure anytime I take dogs outside, they are leashed. All dogs are allowed to free-roam in my house and if they need to be crated for some time, that is no problem. I am very attentive and observant of pets. I keep note of when pets in my home drink water so I know when they may need to go outside to use the bathroom next. I am also very cautious of the items in my household. There is nothing toxic or anything edible in reach of pets. All food and cleaning supplies is put away in a cabinet or pantry. I am also fully aware of the different foods that are toxic to different kinds of pets so I know what needs to be be locked away at all times. When traveling to a clients home, I ensure I spend quality time with their pets. I always inquire how much time a client would prefer me to spend with their pets so I can ensure that my clients pets are getting the best care possible.

A typical day
I love to play with all the pets I’m watching. We would play with toys, do fun tricks, run around, watch TV or animal documentaries, and much more. I also can take dogs to dog parks if allowed by the owner!
