First off, whether you’re a first-time Rover user or someone with more experience, I commend you for taking this step in finding a sitter for your pet. Our pets are our family, and by no means is it easy to entrust a stranger with their lives. I assure you that if you book with me, I’ll do right by you and your furry friends! My name is Jainah, I’m 23 years old, and I’ve loved animals my entire life. I grew up having cats as household pets (with a hamster or two mixed in) so for a while they were the extent of my animal care experience. In my early teens I started taking horseback riding lessons, and it was the constant handling of large animals that took my confidence to the next level. Fast forward to January 2024, and it was then through May of this year that I worked as an Animal Caretaker at a community college vet tech program. Working directly with renowned veterinarians and technicians was an invaluable learning opportunity. This job taught me the intricacies of animal care, illustrating that many of the simple things we do for our pets like feeding and walking are important for their overall health and wellbeing. Now I can proudly say that some pet-care skills I possess include: grooming, reading body language, basic medication administration (oral and topical), socializing, recognizing medical emergencies, CPR, and post-operative care. That leads me to where I am today: working primarily with dogs, cats and horses, but relishing the opportunity to work with any animal. I welcome and value all new animal care experiences. If you’re patient and willing to teach, I’m willing to learn. Across all my animal experience one thing remains constant: personalizing my care to each individual animal’s needs. When leaving your pet in my care be sure to also leave instructions explaining feeding/walking schedules, medications, etc. As for activities: I do enjoy a nice long walk, so if you can recommend a few routes I’m more than happy to explore them with your pet. If indoor play is more their style I can accommodate for that too, just let me know. Dedicating time every day to keeping boredom away is all part of animal care, and I take it as an opportunity to get up and get active myself. Once again thank you for showing interest in my profile. I hope to provide my services to you and your animal companions soon! 🐶🐱🐴 💚 REGARDING PUPPIES/CONSTANT CARE: I’ve indicated on my profile that I am able to watch puppies/provide constant care. This is true nearly every day of the week except when I have a horseback riding lesson, typically on Mondays at 1:00pm but subject to change. This means I will need to leave the house while considering travel time depending on where I’m located, allow 15-20 minutes to tack up, another 15-20 minute untack/cool off afterward, and travel back.
