Pet care experience

Full-time in home pet care

Since leaving my career as a wildlife biologist, I have loved becoming a full time dog/cat house sitter. It's so great to be completely available to spend all day with each clients dogs. It gives me the time needed to really bond and become their rock when their parents have to leave town. My repeat clients feel like family and I just love coming back to see those dogs and cats over and over. I love that i really get to interact and share my love of animals quite directly while also taking care of someone's home, which also suits my homey caretaking nature. I feel this is a great way for me to share my love and positive energy with as many pets and homes as I can. I was begging to have a cat by the age of four, and for my seventh birthday I got my first puppy, a cocker spaniel that I named Crackers! I took care of my pets all through high school, and then paid extra not to live in the dorms during college so that I could have a dog. I got a 65 pound rescue mutt During my sophomore year of college, when everyone else was more concerned with partying. My dog became all of my friends dog because I was the only one who is willing to take on the responsibility. And after I got my dog I changed my major from French to wildlife biology because I couldn’t stand the idea of leaving my dog behind for a year to go to France. I take very seriously the care of animals, and I would take my dog to get exercise and use his sniffer for at least a couple hours every single day. We did everything together and his care was one of my top priorities over the 14 years we were together. I have experience taking care of an older dog. I worked at a dog daycare and hotel for a year and a half in Boulder Colorado. During my experience there I took a dog psychology class and learned how to deal with aggressive dogs. I also learned many techniques for getting animals to take medication and being aware of special diets and special needs. I have read books and watched videos of dog trainers that I respect and used those techniques with my own dog and friends dogs through the years. I am always the one that friends come to when they need assistance with their pets. I am currently available full-time for pet care. I am really enjoying the flexibility, the time getting to know new dogs and cats, and a way to meet more people in the community. I’m hoping to eventually find consistency with repeat clients which gives me an opportunity to build a strong relationship with their animals. I believe pets feel much more at ease when they are able to stay home. I am happy to care for pets in anyway that there parents ask me to. I have experience with many kinds of dogs and all sorts of specific needs. I am also intuitive with the dog or cat and quite observant about their needs.

I had a fantastic experience with Jamie! She stayed with my dogs for mutiple nights while I was away on a trip, and I couldn’t be happier with the care she provided. She communicated regularly, sent updates, pictures and truly treated my dogs and home as if they were her own. It gave me such peace of mind knowing they were in great hands. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, caring sitter—and I’ll definitely be booking with her again!

Jaime is wonderful! ♥️♥️ Anyone who knows me understands I wouldn’t leave my babies with ‘just’ anyone. Jaime loved and snuggled Ted, Finn, Frank & Lola, in my home for a week. This allowed the hoomans to clock some island time. We had a great week, and came home to happy fur babies. Jaime took great care of the kids and my home! Very grateful.♥️

Jaime was great with our pup! Came home to a happy and well-cared for dog (and house). She was very communicative and easy to work with - and it was our first time with both Rover and Jammie. Would recommend!
