Pet care experience

A warm dog lover couple

We (Jerry and Joy) have been known for taking care of our friends’ dogs as if they are our own. From few hours to 5 weeks, dogs of different sizes have been under our care which had led to many of our friends recommending us to start Rover. Jerry is a runner and recreational tennis player, he feels confident providing the best physical care for the puppies — going out on runs and doing indoor tugging activities. Joy likes staying at home more, and she will always be looking out to see if the puppies are comfortable and pouring them with love. Also, be prepared to get showered with tons of pics and stories of how your puppies spent their time during their stay, we will send you as many as we can take! Our dog-friendly place in a very cozy community in Livermore will be a safe, quiet heaven for your puppies — with a spacious park nearby, including a fenced dog park, where puppies can enjoy running while on/off leash (I prefer not doing off-leash when outside unless it's fenced yard or dog park).

Lynn and Jerry took great care of Maggie. They communicated well and shared cute pictures of Maggie to reassure us while we were away. Very organized and obviously care deeply for the dogs they watch. Will happily book them for our next trip requiring someone to watch our pup.

Schedule

As a dedicated dog lover with a full-time job (weekdays, 6 am to 4 PM but can come home for lunch around 11 am), I’ve structured my schedule to ensure your furry friend gets the best care possible. Also, Joy would spend her most of time at home with your puppy. Here’s what you can expect: - Reliable Availability: We plan potty breaks at least three times a day—typically around 7-8 AM, 12 PM-2 PM, and 10-11 PM—so your pup’s needs are always met. - Plenty of Companionship: Your dog will have company for most of the day, with alone time never exceeding 8 hours. - Daily Exercise: We take multiple short walks every day, giving your pup fresh air and a chance to stretch their legs. - Flexible Coordination: We are happy to work with you to ensure your dog’s care schedule fits seamlessly with mine. - Personalized Attention: Every pup in our care receives love, attention, and care tailored to their specific needs. Rest assured, your four-legged family member will be in loving and responsible hands while you’re away!

Safety, trust & environment

We live in a dog-friendly condo in a safe and welcoming residential area of Livermore. Our home is located right next to a fully fenced dog park, where your pup can safely sniff, run around, and socialize with other friendly dogs. This ensures they get plenty of exercise and mental stimulation during their stay. For added peace of mind, we have a reliable car and am prepared to transport your pet to the nearest veterinary urgent care if needed. Our 3-story code is clean, secure, and designed with pets in mind, offering a comfortable environment where your furry friend will feel right at home. Whether it’s playtime at the park or cozy downtime indoors, your dog will be cared for in a safe, enriching environment that prioritizes their happiness and well-being.

A typical day

A typical day with me and Joy is designed to keep your pup happy, healthy, and engaged. Here’s what their day will look like: - Morning Routine: we start the day by taking your pup outside for a potty break before breakfast—it’s important to get them moving first thing in the morning. After they’ve eaten, we’ll head out for a refreshing morning walk at the fenced dog park right outside our house. This gives them the opportunity to stretch their legs, sniff around, and interact with other dogs if they’re comfortable. - Midday Activities: During the day, we keep your pup entertained with interactive playtime, such as tug-of-war, nose work games, or puzzle toys to stimulate their mind and keep them engaged. If your pup enjoys cuddles, there’s always time for some cozy bonding moments too! - Afternoon Walk & Evening Routine: After lunch, we’ll take your pup out for another walk to ensure they stay active and get some fresh air. If needed, lunch or dinner will be served in the afternoon, followed by an afternoon potty break. Before going to sleep between 9-10 PM, we’ll go on a longer night walk to help your pup burn off any remaining energy before bedtime. This ensures they’re relaxed and ready for a good night’s sleep. - Weekend Adventures: On weekends, we love taking pups on hiking trails or nature walks where they can explore new environments, sniff around exciting places, and enjoy plenty of exercise, if you don’t mind. It’s a great way for them to spend energy while experiencing something fun and enriching. If you prefer your dog stays at home with some reasons, we can also follow your instruction as requested. Throughout the day, we prioritize your dog’s needs and adjust activities based on their energy levels and preferences. Whether it’s playtime, walks, or quiet relaxation, we are here to make sure your furry friend feels loved, cared for, and comfortable.
