Animal lover of all kinds with nearly 20 years of experience in animal care, ranging in scope from dogs & cats to horses (stable hand, reporting for duty) & goats and beyond. My partner (a public health scientist) and I have three pets of our own in-home, all of which are firmly tested with new dogs of all ages, sizes, and temperaments. Two of our pets are cats who have private access to the furnished basement--that combined with their experience with in-home dog-sitting makes our home a great choice for pups unfamiliar with feline friends. I have experience administering medication (orally, topically, and optically) and with first-aid response. My past pet care experience (outside of the personal) includes many wonderful pups here on Rover, managing a local horse barn, and providing in-home sitting for small farms. I'm currently available for in-home pet-sitting for dogs at my home in Mount Joy. I look forward to connecting to learn more about your pups, and how I may fit your need for a friendly, dependable, experienced sitter.

Bear has stayed with Jade on multiple occasions now, and Jade is truly the best! We know Bear is getting excellent care and lots of love, and that’s wonderful peace of mind to have! This was Grue's second time staying with Jade and I really am just so glad we found her. We've struggled with finding a dog sitter for so long (our guy is 12 so it's been a long time) but we finally found the perfect sitter for him! I'm convinced he adores Jade, Sarah, and their pets so much that he'd like it if we'd go on vacation more often.

Schedule
I work from home full-time with a very flexible schedule (open to last-minute requests!), which allows me the freedom to take care of other things as necessary, including animals — my own and yours!

Safety, trust & environment
Four walks a day are the standard, but I'm here to provide customized care for your loved ones. While I don't have a fenced-in yard, I'm in a great, winding development with plenty of dog-smells to explore. I'm also located close to several parks in the area, and love exploring when the weather's nice. My pets have free reign of both floors of the house, but no access to the basement or garage (and neither will yours). Mine also have the privilege of access to furniture (including couches, chairs, and beds), but I'll look to you as to whether or not yours should enjoy that with me! I want to respect the training that you've done (or are doing) and reenforce the boundaries you've set/are setting.
Pets
A typical day
I love to take dogs to the local parks, on trails, and exploring my neighborhood! But if it's cruddy outside, that doesn't stop me: I'm more than happy for a long round of fetch indoors (Bear loves running up and down the stairs after a ball--would your dog?). When it is nice, I also love to bring a dog or two on the patio to sunbathe with me while I read.

- If there are any levels of aggression or peculiarities in temperament or preferences, please let me know! I have a ton of experience, but I cannot be prepared for that around which I'm uninformed. Help me take the best care of your pet! I'd also love to know about any allergies, though my dog, Bear, is on a strict (and very plain, allergy-friendly diet), so all existing dog treats in my home tend to be neutral enough for sharing. Please let me know if your dog has any notable medical conditions or is experiencing any notable symptoms (i.e. diarrhea). I have experience with dogs with a variety of medical conditions, including things like heart murmurs, and would love to cultivate an environment inclusive of and considerate toward your pups.
