Over the years, I’ve gained hands-on experience with Labradors, German Shepherds, Cocker Spaniels, Jack Russell Terriers, Yorkshire Terriers, Pomeranians, Shih Tzus and a variety of mixed and crossbreeds. I currently have my own much-loved Sprocker Spaniel, Bunty, which has given me particularly strong experience with energetic, intelligent working breeds. Alongside my practical experience, I have completed Accredited Dog First Aid, CPR and Grooming, a Pet Care and Psychology Diploma, and Risk Assessment Training, achieving Distinction in all three. My training complements my hands-on experience and has further developed my knowledge of canine wellbeing, behaviour, safe care and responding appropriately in an emergency. I understand the importance of appropriate exercise, enrichment, routine and mental stimulation, while recognising that every dog has their own personality, boundaries and way of communicating. I pay close attention to body language and adapt my approach to the individual dog rather than expecting them to adapt to me. I have experience caring for reactive, nervous and anxious dogs and understand that not every dog wants to interact with other dogs or people. I’m comfortable following established management strategies, recognising known triggers and adapting walks, activities and environments to help dogs feel safe and settled. My experience ranges from young puppies through to senior dogs, including older dogs who may need shorter walks, a gentler pace, medication, additional rest or simply a little more patience. Nervous or unsure dogs are always given the time and space they need to build trust with me without interaction being forced. Professionally, I work with children and young people, where safeguarding, responsibility, reliability and attention to detail are essential. I bring that same conscientious approach to caring for animals and understand the level of trust involved when somebody places both their much-loved pet and their home in my care. Most importantly, I want the pets I care for to feel safe, understood and comfortable. I take time to learn their normal routine, personality, favourite things and little quirks so that their care feels as familiar as possible while their owner is away. 🐾

Safety, trust & environment
Your pet’s safety, comfort and wellbeing are always my priority. I have completed accredited Dog First Aid and CPR training alongside Risk Assessment Training, giving me additional knowledge to support the practical experience I have gained throughout my life with animals. I understand that trusting somebody with your pet and your home is a big decision, and I take that responsibility seriously. Before a booking, I take time to understand your pet’s usual routine, personality, medical or behavioural needs, boundaries and anything that may cause them stress or discomfort. I’m comfortable caring for nervous, reactive and senior dogs and will always respect what an individual animal is communicating rather than forcing interaction. When walking dogs, I follow their owner’s usual arrangements regarding leads, harnesses, interactions with other dogs and suitable walking environments. I will never let a dog off lead unless this has been specifically discussed and agreed with their owner beforehand. When caring for pets in their own home, I aim to keep their environment and routine as familiar as possible. I’m respectful of your home and particularly mindful of doors, gates, leads and other potential escape or safety risks. I’m always happy to arrange a meet and greet before a booking. This allows me to meet your pet in their own environment, learn their routine and ask any questions needed before you leave them in my care. You’ll receive regular photos and messages throughout your booking so you can see how your pet is getting on. If I have any concerns about their health, behaviour or wellbeing, I will contact you promptly. Above all, I want you to be able to go away knowing that your pet is with someone who will treat them with patience, kindness and respect. 🐾

Jade is a wonderful dog sitter. Jade came to the house to meet Ted prior to her stay. Jade came equipped with a series of questions about Ted's likes and dislikes, feeding regime, background etc. Jade has lots of experience to ensure pets are in safe hands this includes pet first aid. We had regular updates and we were so happy Ted was being so well looked after. We have already booked another date with Jade as we were so pleased. Jade left everything spotless. Highly recommend.

Jade looked after my little dog at my house for 5 days while I was on holiday. Marnie is nearly 14 & is not used to being away from me. I need not have worried. Jade was amazing! She sent me daily updates with wonderful photos of Marnie who I could tell was vey relaxed & happy which meant I could relax & enjoy my holiday. Jade left my house immaculate & even watered my plants for which I was very grateful. I feel very lucky to have had Jade for my sitter. I would highly recommend her & wouldn’t hesitate to choose her again to look after Marnie.

Jade looked after our puppy for the first time this evening, she sent photo's and videos along with messages to let us know he was OK and being well looked after. We have booked Jade again and are more than happy to say, we trust her whole heartedly to look after him. We can relax knowing he is being so well looked after by Jade.

Schedule
I work a varied and flexible schedule, which makes pet sitting fit well around my existing commitments. During term time, I generally work between 9am and 5pm, Monday to Friday, but my working day is usually split into shorter appointments of around two hours rather than one continuous shift. This means I can often return to pets between commitments for company, toilet breaks, feeding or walks. My availability is more flexible during evenings, weekends and school holidays. Before accepting any booking, I will always discuss your pet’s normal routine, how long they are comfortable being left alone and any specific requirements they have. I will only accept a booking when I’m confident my schedule is suitable for your pet and I can provide the level of care and company they need. I’m happy to work around established feeding times, walks, medication, bedtime routines and other important parts of your pet’s day wherever possible. 🐾

- Every pet is different, so the more I know about yours, the better I can tailor their care and keep things feeling as normal as possible while you're away. I’d love to know about their usual routine, feeding and walking schedule, personality, favourite activities and anything that helps them feel happy and settled. Please let me know about any medical conditions, medication, allergies or dietary requirements, as well as mobility, hearing or eyesight difficulties. Behavioural information is equally important. Please tell me about any reactivity, nervousness, separation anxiety, resource guarding, recall difficulties, prey drive or known triggers involving dogs, people, children, traffic or particular situations. There is absolutely no judgement. Knowing about these things beforehand allows me to plan their care appropriately and helps keep everyone safe. I’d also like to know how long your pet is normally comfortable being left alone, where they sleep, whether they're allowed on furniture, their usual toilet routine and any household rules you'd like me to maintain. And finally, tell me the little things! Whether they have a favourite toy, expect a bedtime biscuit, dislike the postman or insist on sleeping in one very specific spot, those details help me make their time with me feel like their normal life, just with a temporary human substitute! 🐾
