After about a decade working in education, I recently started my own small consulting business! Rover allows me to earn extra income and spend time with cats while I launch a business I am passionate about. I have flexible hours and work from home. Usually cat owners tell me that I can visit whenever works best for me, but if you have a specific time or range in mind, just let me know! With enough notice I can usually make it work. Just no early mornings please :)

About Jade D.
Communication
Safety, trust & environment
Before accepting a new client, I always request a meet and greet so that the cat, the owner, and I can all feel comfortable with the arrangement. It also gives me a chance to understand the home environment and how the cat interacts in that space. I like to learn where the cat tends to hide, where they’re not allowed, and what areas I’ll need access to. I only enter the spaces necessary for caring for the cat and only those the owner shows me. Please let me know if the cat is vaccinated! During each visit, I start by checking in with the cat, then make sure they have fresh food, clean water, and a tidy litter box—even if those are automated. After that, I spend quality time with the cat, whether that means playtime, petting, brushing, or simply hanging out nearby. I like to end each visit with a little treat, if allowed. I will always send over detailed notes and pictures!

Information Jade D. would like to know about your pet
Is your cat vaccinated? Does your cat like to hide and if so are there places in the home that I should look for your pet while you’re away? Is there anywhere your cat is not allowed in your home? Does your cat have a history of escaping or are they good about staying indoors? Does your cat need time to get to know a new sitter? How much playtime does your cat need? Is your cat litter box trained? Can I give them treats? Any special requests?
A typical day
Cats have a way of letting you know exactly how they want to play, don’t they? After taking care of food, water, and litter, I always set aside time to engage with the cat in a way that suits their mood. If they brush up against me, I’ll offer pets, scratches, or some gentle brushing. If they react to a toy, I’ll see which one gets them most excited. I love playing music and dancing around with wand toys, strings, or lasers—and I’m always happy to toss a ball for them to chase. If you let me know your cat’s favorite games, I’ll make sure they stay happy and entertained while you’re away.

Always love when Jade is available to take care of my kitties. She communicates well and sends lots of pics, which are always appreciated! I look forward to her updates while I’m away, and come home to happy cats.

Fantastic job taking care of our cats, including making friends with a super shy cat. Super easy to work with and very professional. Will definitely rebook!

Jade kept me updated with sweet photos and thoughtful messages, which gave me total peace of mind. Highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring and trustworthy sitter!
