With over 14 years of experience in animal care, I bring a wealth of knowledge and dedication to every pet I have the pleasure of looking after. My background includes working as a veterinary assistant, where I gained invaluable experience in animal health and wellness. I've also worked as a kennel worker in a dog rescue specializing in dogs facing behavioral challenges. My career also spans several years in the pet retail industry, including two years in a management role responsible for the welfare of all animals in the store. This experience has not only deepened my understanding of the diverse needs of various animal species—including dogs, cats, reptiles, small mammals, birds, and both freshwater and saltwater fish—but also honed my skills in creating a nurturing environment for them. I am passionate about animal care, placing the well-being of pets at the forefront of everything I do. My hands-on experience extends to working with animals of all temperaments, including those who are difficult, shy, with cognitive issues, or aggressive. I use positive reinforcement training & have experience in treating injuries, handling emergency situations, and administering subcutaneous injections and medications as needed. I look forward to bringing my extensive experience and compassionate approach to caring for your pet, ensuring they receive the highest level of care and attention during our time together. 🥰 Note - I used to go by Allie, but go by Jade now, so this is why some old reviews say "Allie". I am non-binary and use they/them pronouns. I took a hiatus from Rover for a few years but am currently working as a freelance graphic / web designer as well as petsitter!

Safety, trust & environment
Safety is paramount in every interaction I have with pets. I adhere strictly to any guidelines provided by the pet owners and take extra precautions to avoid any situations that could potentially lead to stress or harm for the pets. My extensive experience, particularly with animals that may have special needs or behavioral challenges, equips me to handle these situations calmly and effectively. I always strive to create a positive and comfortable environment for pets, paying close attention to their individual needs and preferences. I pay especially close attention to body language to make sure I'm operating within the comfort zone of the animal. I also follow any feeding, exercise, and medication schedules meticulously, as well as provide plenty of affection and engaging activities to keep them happy and stimulated. My approach is flexible and adaptive, recognizing that each pet has its unique personality and requirements.

Jade took great care of my cat and high energy puppy. I was amazed when I came home how calm and happy they both were. I especially appreciated Jade wearing the puppy out before I got home so that I could relax! They also loaded the dishwasher and emptied the trash, which I was also grateful for!
Jade was very communicative and responsive! They were able to quickly meet at my home to introduce them to my dog Bao, and was prompt with their drop in visits. I also appreciated them being able to feed my cat as well.
Jade (Allie) was amazing with my cats! I had a short window to find a catsitter and Jade put me at ease with her caring and knowledge of cats. One of my kitties was just getting over a Uti and Jade was extremely diligent in checking on her and giving her meds. She gave me detailed updates and great videos and pictures each visit. I felt very confident in her care of my kitties and trusted her in my (new) home. Will definitely have her back. Highly recommend!
Allie did a great job with our 2 dogs. We would use and recommend her again
Allie was a new pet sitter we found on Rover and she did great with our dogs. Both of our dogs are a little anxious but they warmed up to her quickly. We received updates on how the dogs were during her visits which helped us have a little piece of mind while we were away. We will definitely use Allie in the future!
Allie did a wonderful job with our dogs. She provided feedback when she was there on feedings, bathrooms, etc., sent pictures, and let us know when she was leaving that everything went well. We will most definitely be getting in touch with her on future sittings. Great job Allie!!!

Schedule
My daily routine is designed around the well-being and happiness of the pets in my care, ensuring they receive the highest level of attention and tailored care they deserve. I am committed to providing a nurturing and supportive environment for all pets, making their time with me as enjoyable and comforting as possible. I always try to stay a bit longer during drop-ins when I'm able to, especially for pets who are high energy or love getting lots of attention! My own household includes three dogs and two cats, all of whom thrive on a very consistent schedule. This routine includes regular feeding times, play sessions, and exercise, ensuring they remain healthy, happy, and well-adjusted. This structured approach to pet care ensures that any pet sitting clients receive the same level of care and attention as my own animals.
