Pet care experience

Delivering quality time + care!

Hi there, I’m Jacqueline! I have been caring for animals for most of my life, from family pets and roommates’ animals to my own dogs. When my work required me to be gone all day, I relied on Rover sitters myself, and I was very particular about how my animals were cared for. I have absolutely been that helicopter pet parent on the other side, so I understand how much trust it takes to invite someone into your home and place the care of a beloved family member in their hands. That responsibility is something I take very seriously. While you may simply need someone to let your dog out or take them for a walk, I believe there is so much more to thoughtful pet care than meeting basic needs. Your pets are part of the family, and basic care is a low bar. Pets need and deserve enrichment that supports both their physical and mental well-being. I have seen firsthand how differently dogs behave when they receive consistent enrichment and stimulation, and it requires more than a quick trip outside. The reality is that many dogs do not get enough daily exercise or mental engagement. Busy schedules and mounting responsibilities can make it hard to provide the time and attention they need. When dogs receive regular, intentional care, their behavior, mood, and overall happiness often shift noticeably. In my experience, dogs who are consistently exercised and mentally stimulated are calmer, more confident, more easily trainable, and simply happier. Dog walks are not just about physical exercise. While walking works the body, sniffing works the brain. Every smell tells a story, engages natural instincts, and provides a mental workout dogs deeply crave. A relaxed, sniff-friendly walk can actually be more tiring than a fast-paced march, leaving your dog calmer, more fulfilled, and ready to rest when they get home. If your dog enjoys playtime, I offer optional enrichment experiences such as park visits using a twenty-five-foot leash that can be safely staked to allow room for free movement. This can include fetch, relaxed time in the sunshine, or calmly observing other dogs from a distance. For dogs who crave social interaction, we can discuss a meet and greet with my dogs to see how everyone gets along. If the fit feels right and trust is established, I can occasionally bring my dogs along during care visits to support that social need. These options are always by request and only offered once safety, comfort, and trust are firmly in place for both humans and animals. I also have experience caring for cats. While their needs are similar to dogs in many ways, they are best met differently. I tailor care based on each cat’s unique personality, whether that means interactive play, quiet companionship, or simply respecting their space. Over the years, I have trained five dogs from puppyhood to walk calmly on a leash without pulling and to follow basic commands such as sit, stay, and recall foundations. I have also successfully trained the same core skills with an adult dog who came to me with established behavioral challenges, reinforcing my belief that positive reinforcement can create meaningful change at any age. I bring patience, consistency, and a calm presence to every interaction, adjusting my approach to suit each animal’s temperament and needs. I have experience in administering medicine, following special diets, and attending to special needs. I'd be happy to discuss your pet's unique care program. If you are looking for someone who treats your pets with the same care, attentiveness, and respect you would expect for a family member, I would love to meet you and your animals!

Jacqueline was absolutely amazing! She was able to get my pup Winston in for walks on short notice which I really appreciated. She was very warm and kind and Winston loved her! She had great communication with me and kept me updated with photos and notes from the walks. Definitely recommend her and will use her again!

Calendar and availability

Schedule

I'm an artist and I started my own business that offers total schedule flexibility but need supplemental income for at least the first few years of that endeavor. When thinking about how I wanted to spend that time moving my body outdoors, I realized that walking and playing with pets was a natural fit!

Where your pet will stay

Safety, trust & environment

I currently offer walks and care in the pet's home and can develop a care routine to suit their needs. Standard dog walks are 30 minutes, and include lots of pets, scratches, and client-provided treats. 60m+ walks are also available. You can request a park play visit, where I can bring my long leash and stake for free play time. I'm happy to discuss socializing or any other unique care option you're interested in.

Pets

A typical day

A care routine might consist of a 60-minute walk 5 days per week, and an additional 30 minutes of park play twice per week. Or perhaps they prefer indoor play time. I can bring games (if treats are provided) to provide mental stimulation and play. I can also work on behavioral training (informally, to reinforce what you're currently training), if additional support is needed. This is fully customizable, based on what your pet needs.

It’s helpful to know your pet’s typical daily routine, activity level, interests, and how they behave around other dogs. Do they bark and lunge at dogs they encounter on walks? It happens! But I certainly want to know about this ahead of time to prepare. Are you currently training on a behavior that you want to positively reinforce or want to avoid? Are there any behavioral issues I need to know about? Is your pet on any medication? Do they have any allergies? Are they allowed to have treats, and are those provided? Is your pet current on all vaccines? Does your pet have any special needs? Any information you can provide will help me take better care of your pet!
