Pet care experience
Reliable, energetic and experienced
I’m a lifetime dog lover originally from the Lake District, 29 years old, accountant by trade and live with my girlfriend (Lucy) who is also an accountant, we live in a lovely and large two bedroom garden flat in Clapham that has large and private courtyard garden, we live on Edgeley Road so we can reach Clapham Common in 5 minutes. I do all the communications and bookings but your dog will be looked after by both Lucy and I. We get asked a lot so I want to make 100% clear that we only take 1 dog at once, we look after dogs because we love it and we know that dogs that don’t know each other shouldn’t be looked after at the same time. We do take up to 2 dogs at once if they are from the same home though! We also love house sitting in Kingston on Thames (near our extended family) so don’t hesitate to reach out if you live there. As well as having a variety of dog breeds in my family home growing up (Jack Russel, Labrador, Collie and Spaniel). It’s my dream to have my own dog one day and if I could choose it might be a Hungarian Vizsla (so if anyone has one reach out!!). I also volunteered in a husky rescue centre in New Zealand for a month, so I have good experience with larger and more difficult dogs! We aren’t quite ready for our own dog so Rover is the perfect solution and you can trust us to treat your dog like our own. I love hiking/walking so you can trust your dog will get their steps in with me, we head to Richmond park several times a month to exercise ourselves and the dogs. Having now had over 25 dogs through Rover, we have experience with a mix of breeds and personalities. I have good knowledge of training and how to look after dogs of all ages and sizes. I’m happy to discuss if you would like anything specific on the day I look after your ball of fluff.

Jacob and Lucy are fantastic with Luna! They sent great updates, were very flexible, and we’ll definitely book again 😊

Jacob and Lucy take such good care of our dog Oscar. He has stayed several times for long stays, multiple weeks. Oscar now thinks its his second home. We get regular updates and it now feels like he prefers living with these two lovely carers.

I can't review Jacob and Lucy highly enough. They are a lovely couple, very communicative and caring. They made sure I knew what Ted had been up to, how he was eating etc and sharing lovely photos. It was so clear he relaxed quickly with them both and I felt so at ease to enjoy my holiday knowing he was having a lovely time with them and being looked after so well. It was clear Ted loved staying with them both and I wouldn't even hesitate to leave Ted with them again.

Jacob and Lucy were absolutely amazing dog sitters for our German Shepherd, and we couldn’t have asked for better care during the week we were away. They were confident and experienced with large, energetic dogs, and made sure she got plenty of exercise, attention, and love. Our dog has GI issues and they kept us updated on her progress; we really appreciated the regular updates, photos, and messages, which gave us complete peace of mind. It was clear she was happy, comfortable, and well looked after the entire time. They even took her on a long hike and she loved the extra walks and outdoor time! I would highly recommend Jacob and Lucy to anyone looking for trustworthy and caring dog sitters. It is super comforting to know your dog is well looked after and loved - thank you both!!

Jacob was fantastic with Luna! He sent regular updates and photos and was super accommodating with our schedules. Will definitely book again 😊

Jacob was fantastic with Luna, sending multiple updates and checking in throughout the days she was with him to make sure we knew how she was settling in. Will absolutely book again!

Schedule
I work 9-5pm full time but I can work from home most days if I want to, my work are really flexible about taking breaks throughout the day and extended lunch breaks so I have the time to look after a doggo. Often free on the weekends and my favourite thing is to drive over to Richmond or Wimbledon Park and get a proper walk in.
Where your pet will stay
Home characteristics
Safety, trust & environment
It’s very much up to you if you’d like the dogs bed or blanket to come over with him/her, I have a fenced courtyard garden where the dog can go out to the toilet or have a little runaround. If the dog is staying during the day they can sleep beside my desk in the office. If I’m in your house, I will of course be respectful and speak to you about how you’d like your dog to be looked after. Each and every dog is different as we all know!
A typical day
7:30/9am collect dogs and walk usually Clapham Common half an hour Work while doggo eats and snoozes in bed or on sofa 12/1 off out again either Clapham Common/Wandsworth Commonly 45mins I work and dogs have afternoon naps 5/6pm take dogs home Based on yours and the dog’s preferences I’m happy to do a little training with them to keep up the mental stimulation, otherwise we are likely to be walking on Clapham Common.
