In my role at Morrisville Cat Hospital, I was responsible for overseeing the daily needs of our boarding cats and cats who were being admitted for services during the day. My responsibilities included, but were not limited to: cleaning each cage or condo daily, administering medication and feeding, and being alert to/recording changes in a cat’s health such as vomiting, diarrhea, or noticeable weight loss. I also helped out by sanitizing & preparing exam rooms between appointments, assisting vets & vet techs with blood draws, vaccinations, and oral medicating. Prior to MCH, I spent several years fostering dozens of cats through the Foster Paws Rescue organization in South Carolina. As a volunteer with Foster Paws, I guided prospective adopters through an intake and paperwork process where I would collect and transcribe pertinent information, ensuring all documentation was complete and accurate. Being able to facilitate the adoptions of strays in my care with their new owners was very fulfilling to be a part of.
