Flexible Schedule, Love to Walk!
Pet care experience
I have watched dogs for family members and friends for most of my life and I loved and cared for my own two dogs before they passed away. I also worked for an animal clinic for two years where I was in charge of caring for the boarded animals. I now have my cat, Alina, to keep me company, but I miss playing with and cuddling my canine companions. I love going for long walks every day and I enjoy having a dog along for company and playtime. One of my dogs had diabetes, so I am comfortable with administering injected medication. I can also do some oral medication, if the dog isn't resistant. I work from home, so my schedule is flexible. I can generally tailor my schedule to fit my client's needs. I am keeping my available times a limited for now, but I may be willing to expand those times depending on the circumstances. It doesn't hurt to ask :-)

I can't say enough great things about Jaclyn! From the moment she showed up to our meet & great, she took very detailed notes about taking care of our dogs and asked so many great questions to ensure they were going to be well taken care of. She arrived promptly on time and sent lots of pictures during her stay. I had no doubts that my dogs were happy as could be with Jaclyn and it was very reassuring not to have to worry about anything while being away from them. I will definitely be using Jaclyn for my future needs and would highly suggest you also consider choose her as well... just as long as it's not when I need her help! :-)

I would like to know if the dog has difficulty being around other dogs or humans (e.g. should I avoid populated areas on a walk). If there are any medications or special needs, I would prefer to know about them ahead of time. I don't have any breed restrictions, but if it is a large animal, I will need to make sure I can handle the dog before accepting. I am confident in my ability to handle most dogs, but if the dog is particularly large and energetic, I may have some difficulties (I am 5'2").
A typical day
Walks will most likely be around the neighborhood, although if a park or a walking trail is nearby, I love to walk there as well. Playtime at the house will depend on the dog's preferences, some dogs like tug-of-war, some like fetch, and some just like to snuggle.
