Farm Life for your Dog!

Boarding and caring for dogs is a family affair in the Chadbourne Household! When your dog is with us, they are part of our family just like our own animals. My husband (Eric), our son Hunter and daughter Jordyn are all involved in every aspect of your boarding experience. We reside on 10 acres of land on a private road in Wells Maine - less than 10 minutes from Drakes Island and 15 minutes from Kennebunk. We seek to provide your dog with ample socialization and exercise along with structured living as a resident in our home. We have 3 dogs of our own (Bentley, CC and Ovi). We have indoor and outdoor space and time for multiple days whether they are boarding overnight or just during the day. We also offer a morning pickup service for day boarders within local towns. We have a fenced in area off our barn in the backyard that allows for secured outdoor play as well as shelter from rain/sun and beds for napping. This fenced area extends to include access to our daylight basement so your dog(s) will not need to be leashed other then potentially for field trips. Our routine can vary depending on the days activities and weather but your dogs are ensured anywhere from 2-4+ hours of outdoor play per day. Exercised dogs are happy dogs so that is a very important aspect for us. Dogs are allowed on couches and kids beds only (adult beds are off limits). We provide crates (if dog is crated), dog beds and ample cuddling! To get set up with us we might require a Meet and Greet. If it's a good fit you can then submit your requests via Rover When planning for your pup: 1) No personal items (toys, bones, blankets, etc) - this can cause issues in the pack - these are only allowed if dog is crated and items will remain in the crate 2) Meals should be packed in individual baggies for each meal or large bags/containers for multiple days. 3) Medications should be organized either in each meal baggie or in a pill organizer with instructions 4) Crates are provided if required 5) Ample dog beds are provided so no need to pack those - most times the dogs never sleep on their own dog bed anyways! We would love to provide love and care for your dogs - so please reach out anytime! We book up quickly on holidays and summer months so please don't delay! NOTE: PLEASE READ OUR RESTRICTED BREED DISCLAIMER PRIOR TO REQUESTING CARE The following breeds (purebred or mixed) are not permitted to be boarded in our home. Please understand this is not our decision and we LOVE all dog breeds. We apologize sincerely for any inconvenience. Pitbulls (purebred or mixed) Doberman Pinscher Rotweiler Chow Chow Akita Cane Corso Alaskan Malamute Canary Dog ALL other breeds are welcome!

This Rover is fantastic. Jaclyn and Eric were very communicative and caring of my pups. They sent several videos and my boys were all smiles when I picked em up. Highly recommend

Jaclyn and her family are AMAZING dog people. I just moved to the area with my sweet but anxious/clingy dog, and needed a last-minute place for her to stay over a long weekend. I was really nervous about her staying with someone she didn’t really know, and also with more other dogs than she was used to being around. Jaclyn went above and beyond: she really eased my dog into their space so that she wouldn’t be overwhelmed, and even gave her special walks! I got lots of pictures and videos, and it was so relieving to know she was safe and having a good time. I would board/doggie day care again with them in a heartbeat!! Thank you all!

Jaclyn and Eric are both super personable and kind. Nova can be an anxious girly, but she always seems to have the best time while staying with them. I’m so appreciative of their updates and pictures/videos of her romping and snuggling, as well as their excellent communication. So happy we found them for our frequent stays in Wells!

We were anxious dog parents since Daisy had never been left where there was a group of dogs. Jacklyn and Eric were very reassuring when we dropped her off and provided many, many videos and pictures of Daisy happily enjoying her personal vacation. We highly recommend this doggy care facility. She loved the farm!

Schedule

Pets are all part of our family and our own dogs routines. Dogs are exercised 2-3 times per day in free play in fenced area or on walks. When we are away from the home we have multiple rooms to ensure they are comfortable, calm and safe. If dogs are crated, we provide those for owners. We are home during the day, evening, and night aside from short trips for errands or kids activities.

Safety, trust & environment

We have fenced in area off of the barn that extends to our daylight basement for ample play - along with dog pools, dog beds and shelter from rain/sun. They are NEVER left outside unattended and only require a leash potentially on field trips. We have extended leashes that allow for walks as if they are off leash, but allow us to keep your dog safe. We allow dogs throughout our home - they are required to be housetrained. They are allowed on couches and kids beds. We have ample dog beds for resting and snuggling as well.

Pets

A typical day

We are outside as much as possible. Outdoor play at the barn is the most popular activity. However, we will often take dogs with us on car rides, errands, sporting activities or walks depending on how many dogs we are boarding and their temperament. We have kiddie pools for swimming and cooling off. Depending on the pack, we can sometimes do ball play. If your dog loves fetch, we ensure safety within the pack and will do that 1:1 if required. Our goal is your dog is exercised and loved everyday and we usually end the day with snuggling and a movie as a family many nights!

Please let us. know if your dog has any aggression, marking or dominance concerns. It's helpful to know their specific signs and also what they need personally - lots of play, time alone for naps or snuggles. Are they more of a people dog? Or do they love playing with other dogs? Also, let us know if they are prone to consuming things they should not, excessive chewing, etc.
Each sitter joining Rover needs to pass a background check. And by booking on Rover, you can get photo & message updates, 24/7 support, and reimbursement for eligible vet care.
