Services
Jacki can care for
Availability
I love all animals but have none of my own anymore so I have lots of love and time to give yours. I'm usually quite open for sitting unless others have already booked with me, of course. Please check the Rover calendar. It's important to note that I value my time and yours so I try to be as prompt and efficient as possible. I stay fairly busy but last-minute bookings are sometimes possible. I always prefer to do a Meet n Greet before any booking so I can become familiar with you, your pet(s), your expectations and needs, and your home. With that said, please read the Description of Services so we both know what to expect and are able to agree on the service I provide. Thanks!

DESCRIPTION ON SERVICES: My overnight sitting consists of 3 visits in a 24-hour period. If I begin around 3-4 pm I leave til 9-10pm; stay overnight, then leave in the morning til 3-4 the next day, which begins another “overnight sitting “. I can begin this 3X/day at night (9-10), or sometime in the morning, however works best for you. Your pet(s) will never go more than 8 hours without a visit. If you prefer more often, that’s possible with an additional 30 or 60 minute drop-in charge. Times are flexible. These are just common times and suggestions. Pre-Covid, most folks who worked outside the home were usually gone for 8-9 hours a day so this would be a routine schedule for the pets. Most of my pet parents live in houses with securely fenced yards so the pet(s) potty there and walks are not necessary. For my apartment parents, walks are included in the sitting/drop-in fee. For those who prefer their pet(s) be walked even if they have a secure yard, I charge an additional $20 per walk because this extends my usual visit time. On special occasions, I will stay at your place continually for a number of hours for an hourly rate to be agreed upon individually. If you're needing a sitter to stay at your home for a longer period of time, other Rover sitters are available to do that. I'm not, though. If you have any questions, I'd be happy to discuss this with you personally. Thanks for considering me!! The pet(s) and I must get along, of course. If dog(s) (especially small ones) don't allow me to get near them, it's best that I not even enter the house. Knowing their daily schedule, potty and feeding times, sleep habits (location) favorite toys and games are always helpful. Personally, I prefer larger breeds. The bigger the better. I've shared my life with Great Danes, Labs, Aussies, and other mid-sized dogs. But I'm also familiar with smaller breeds. They're usually just a little more fragile. I take every opportunity to care for your pets as well as your home, as if you were there yourself. I realize I'm no substitute but I value cleanliness, neatness, and respect your property. I'm happy to water plants, handle mail/packages, trash, or whatever daily needs there may be in your absence.
Information Jacki L. would like to know about your pet
Temperament, preferences (food, toys, people, grooming, other animals, locations to walk), eating habits, sleeping habits, health status, if on medication - how/when to administer, any behavioral issues (anxiety, storm sensitivity, etc).
A typical day
I can play ball, frisbee, wrestle, or just cuddle. If walking, we go where your fur baby wants to go as long as it's safe. If overnight, I prefer those who are allowed to, to be my bed partner. They'll get lots of attention, pets, scratches, belly rubs, and brushing.

Pet care experience
I've been animal sitting for many years. I'm familiar with many sizes, breeds, personalities, and needs. Will "sit" for cats, birds, chickens, exotics, etc as well, after having shared my life personally with many species (snakes, gerbils, fish, mice, rats, ferrets, horses...) I'm currently working part-time. My hours vary and are usually flexible. I try my best to accommodate your schedule. I want to have plenty of time to share with your precious "family" while you're away from home. I will provide your fur baby(s) with the most love and attention possible. I realize we all have our own routines and habits. I DO have experience giving injections along with other medications, etc. I'm happy to provide this service at an additional cost per pet with the amount (mutually agreed upon) determined by the degree of difficulty. Please understand that I may not always be successful depending on your pet's resistance. I don't do sitting in my home. I'm happy to have your pet(s) stay where they're most comfortable, familiar, and at ease. They deserve the best.

Reviews

Jacki took excellent care of our two cats and goldendoodle while we were on vacation for 11 days. We hired her as an overnight sitter with a few drop ins during the day. During our meet and greet, she asked all the right questions and made sure we were happy with the schedule and duration of drop ins. We came home to happy pets, which is always a relief! I would recommend Jacki to anyone.

Our cats really like Jacki and we are very glad she is available to help take care of them when we are away.

Jacki exceeded all expectations, and I already had high expectations for her, after reading all of her many positive reviews on Rover. Jacki did an amazing 👏 job. We will definitely request her services again! My pups were so well taken care of, that I think they hardly even knew we were gone. They were so, so happy to see us when we returned home as always, but while we were away, Jacki was very good about staying in touch with updates, making sure I knew what was going on, sending me pictures of my babies along with statuses on how they were doing. I felt well informed I was not worried one bit while I was away. I missed my pups, but I knew that Jacki was caring for them just like I would, because of her personality, her attention to detail, the way she took notes and asked questions about how we take care of our pups. She really cares about our beloved pups, and it shows. I am very grateful for having found Jacki, and I know my pups are, too. She took care of them and watched over our home while we were away, so we had our peace of mind covered in more ways than one thanks to Jacki.
We found Jacki on Rover before heading out on a family road trip to Chicago for a week. Our four fur babies were in great hands, had lots of fun with her, and our home looked just as clean as it did when we left. We'd be glad to work with her again in the future!
