About Jace S.

Safety, trust & environment

1. Home & Environment (For Drop-In Visits) When I enter your home, your pet’s safety and your home’s security are my top priorities. 🔒 Double-Door Protocol: I am extremely mindful of door-dashers. I ensure all entryways and gates are fully secured behind me before letting pets out or off-leash in a yard. 🔑 Home Care & Discretion: I handle home keys, smart locks, and alarm systems with absolute care. Your property will always be locked and secured when I leave. 🧼 Clean & Mindful: I leave your space exactly as I found it. Paws get wiped on rainy days, mess items are cleaned up, and dirty food/water bowls are washed after every visit. 2. Safety Practices & Walk Rules Because I handle my own reactive senior dog daily, safety on walks is second nature to me: 🦮 Equipment Checks: Before stepping foot outside, I double-check that leashes, collars, and harnesses are properly fitted and securely latched. I use fixed 6-foot leashes (no retractable leashes) for maximum control and safety. 🛑 Strict "Zero-Greeting" Policy: I never allow on-leash greetings with unfamiliar dogs or strangers. I constantly scan the environment for triggers, cross streets early, and give your dog a low-stress, quiet walk. 💧 Weather & Hydration Aware: I monitor pavement temperatures in hot weather and always carry fresh water during outdoor visits. 3. Information I Need Before Our First Visit (The "Meet & Greet") To ensure your pet gets the safest, happiest care possible, please share: 💊 Medication Routines: Any exact dosages, schedule, or preferred trick to administering pills/liquids. ⚠️ Triggers & Anxieties: Does your pet dislike loud noises, bicycles, other dogs, or certain touch zones (e.g., paws, ears)? 📍 Emergency Contacts: Your preferred vet, the nearest 24/7 emergency vet clinic, and a local emergency contact. 🚪 Home Quirks: Any tricky locks, gate latches, or specific places your pet likes to hide when scared.

Information Jace S. would like to know about your pet

Just the basics, are they social, what to expect and avoid on walks. Do they have dietary restrictions or specific eating times. Gotta keep the grumbles away! Also, are they good off leash, in fenced areas, and allowed to run?

A typical day

The Ballard area is the most amazing place to walk and/or sit dogs! From large parks around pretty much every corner, to a local community that care about fur babies. I would love the opportunity to show your dog around, following owner guidelines and continue to enrich their lives as best I can!

Pet care experience

I grew up raising puppies and have had dogs around me my entire life. But more importantly, I know firsthand that not every dog is an easygoing, "walk-in-the-park" pup—and that’s my specialty. My personal dog is a 16-year-old sweet senior whom I’ve raised since he was 5 weeks old. He is reactive in his old age, and now requires additional patience and understanding. He also developed some arthritis and requires daily medication management. Because of my daily life with him, I deeply understand the patience, environmental awareness, and gentle care that "high-maintenance" or sensitive pets need. Whether your dog is a rambunctious puppy, a reactive rescue needing a calm handler, or a golden-years senior who needs a slow pace and precise medical care, they will be in safe, experienced hands with me.

Jace is loved by pets! Dogs that appear uninterested become animated and cheerful when he’s around. Even cats that usually resist human interaction seem to enjoy his presence. He is able to handle situations that may escalate and deescalate confrontations. You can trust him with your animal companion, as even the most standoffish animals are charmed by him!
