Hi! I’m Ismelda. Animals have been part of my life for nearly three decades, and I have 29 years of hands-on pet care experience from caring for three dogs of my own and helping family and friends with their dogs and cats over the years. I know how much trust it takes to leave your pet in someone else’s care. They’re family, and they each have their own routines, quirks, favorite things, and ways of letting us know what they need. My goal is to care for your pet in a way that feels as familiar and comfortable as possible while you’re away. I currently share my home with a tiny Chihuahua, so I have an especially big soft spot for little dogs with big personalities! Caring for such a small dog has also made me very mindful of the details that matter with smaller pets, from gentle handling and properly secured harnesses to being aware of larger dogs and our surroundings during walks. I also understand that not every pet wants to be best friends right away. Some dogs and cats are naturally shy, cautious, or nervous around someone new, and that’s perfectly okay with me. I’m happy to give them space, learn their cues, and let them approach me when they’re ready rather than forcing interaction. I offer dog walking and drop-in visits for dogs and cats and am comfortable following your pet’s established feeding, walking, potty, crate, playtime, and enrichment routines. For my feline friends, I’m happy to handle meals and fresh water, litter-box care, playtime, and companionship, even if their idea of companionship is watching me suspiciously from the other side of the room. 😸 Safety, patience, and consistency are very important to me. I’ll carefully follow your instructions for leashes and harnesses, doors and gates, feeding, interactions with other animals, and your household routines. I also prefer a Meet & Greet with new pets whenever possible. It gives us a chance to meet, lets your pet get familiar with me, and allows you to show me all those little details about their routine that only you know. While your pet is in my care, you can expect photos and updates, because I know how reassuring it is to see that your little (or not-so-little!) family member is doing well. And for my bilingual pet parents: I speak English and Spanish/Hablo Español. Please communicate with me in whichever language feels most comfortable. Whether your pet needs a walking buddy, some playtime and attention, a patient new friend, or simply someone dependable to keep their usual routine going, I’ll do my best to make them feel safe, comfortable, and cared for until you’re back home. ❤️🐾
