Pet care experience
Sunset Park family!
I’ve loved animals for as long as I can remember! I grew up around lots of pets and have spent years caring for friends’ and roommates’ cats and dogs. In 2019, we adopted our own dog, Gary, who has taught us even more about what it means to care for a happy, healthy, and well-loved pup. I genuinely enjoy getting to know each animal’s unique personality and helping them feel comfortable, safe, and relaxed in my home. I know how much trust it takes to leave your pet in someone else’s care, and I’ll treat your dog with the same love, patience, and attention I give my own. I also have many years of experience babysitting and working with children, which has taught me to be patient, attentive, responsible, and adaptable. While your pup is with me, I’ll make sure they get plenty of love, attention, playtime and exercise. I’ll also send regular pictures and videos so you can see their happy face and know they’re doing great while you’re away. I strive to offer great communication, as much (or as little) as you want. For a long stay, I would send at least one photo and update per day, and up to 2 updates per day for a shorter stay.

Gabrielle was very accommodating and my dog Otis was comfortable with her right away. We met at a nearby park the day before for introductions. When I dropped him off early the next day , she took him out on a nice walk to distract him. I know he was happy since at the end of the day, he calmly hopped into my car. When he is antsy or nervous after a day with a sitter, he will bark at me! We will definitely use her again!

Isabelle was wonderful! Took great care of our girl! Highly recommend and will use her services again!

Isabelle is a kind and compassionate dog person who is an excellent caregiver for pets. She has taken care of my 8 year old Schnoodle Arne several times and Arne has always been happy and well cared for. Isabelle is the best and I would not hesitate to recommend her!

Schedule
I work full-time from home Monday through Friday, so your pup will have plenty of company and won’t be left alone for long periods of time. We like to keep a consistent routine with lots of walks and outdoor time. Our typical day includes a long morning walk (about an hour at the local park), a 20–30 minute lunchtime walk (weather permitting), another long walk in the late afternoon, and a quick potty break before bed. Of course, I’m happy to adjust the routine to match your dog’s normal schedule and needs. Whether they’re an energetic walker, a professional couch potato, or somewhere in between, I want them to feel comfortable and at home while they’re with us!

Safety, trust & environment
Your dog’s safety and comfort are always my top priorities. I’m happy to follow any specific rules, routines, or recommendations you have, and I’m always available to answer questions or provide updates. I take a cautious approach to off-leash time. I typically won’t let a new dog off-leash unless I’ve gotten to know them well and their owner has explicitly given me permission. I’m also very mindful of interactions with other dogs, whether they’re leashed or off-leash. If I sense that either dog is uncomfortable or stressed, I’m happy to create space and respectfully ask other owners to do the same. Our apartment is also fully dog- and child-proofed, so your pup can relax and feel safe in a comfortable, welcoming environment while they’re staying with us. ❤️

A typical day
We love getting outside and exploring! Depending on your dog’s energy level and routine, we enjoy walks around the neighborhood and trips to the park to get some exercise and fresh air. On rainy or chilly days, we make the most of our time indoors with playtime and enrichment activities. One of our favorites is hiding treats around the house and letting the pups use their noses to sniff them out — it’s a fun way to keep them mentally stimulated! Our dog, Gary, is also playful and loves having a buddy around. If they’re both in the mood, they may have a little zoomie session around the apartment and chase each other. Of course, I always make sure play stays comfortable and appropriate for everyone.

- Please let me know about any fears, anxieties, or sensitivities your dog may have — whether that’s fireworks, loud noises, balls, children, or anything else. I’ll do my best to anticipate these situations and make sure your pup feels safe and comfortable. Because we have a 3-year-old son, it’s especially important that your dog is comfortable around children. He is gentle and respectful with our dog (and is also very good at giving him space!), but we want every dog who stays with us to feel comfortable and for everyone to be happy and safe. If your dog isn’t comfortable around young children, we completely understand — we just may not be the best fit. I’d much rather know upfront so I can make sure your pup is staying somewhere that’s right for them. Please let me know ahead of time if your pet needs to be either picked up or dropped off. Because I work full-time, have a child, and do not own a car, it might be more difficult for me to arrange, or we would need to agree on an additional fee. Very young and energetic puppies might not be the right fit for us either. Gary is an older guy, and although he is in great health and loves to play, he sometimes isn't very nice to puppies (he growls, never bites). We also do request that your dogs be fully house trained: although an accident can happen (in which case, we will deal with it), we do not use pee pads. Thanks for reading!
