I grew up on a farm in Upstate New York, taking care of my dogs, chickens, cats, and horses. I've loved animals for a long time, and feel that they provide a much needed therapeutic and calming part of my life. I'm in London doing my Masters at UCL, and would love to be able to spend some time with dogs! As far as house sitting, besides caring for my own animals my whole life, I have done dog sitting for 4 days for a good friend in Boston (where I went to Brandeis University). The dogs I took care of there were older, one had significant arthritis that made it difficult to move. I took them outside to go to the bathroom frequently, and even went swimming with them once! Moreover I have worked as a groom and stable hand at a horse show barn, caring for horses. I really love spending time with animals, especially dogs, because they are so loving and the experience is so rewarding! Since dogs help me to feel good, it's the least I can do to make them feel good and give back. When I was going to school in Boston I also worked as a dog walker for Wag! now and then, and found that I really enjoyed walking dogs as well. I would be a great house sitter, and walker partly because I enjoy spending time with dogs, but also because I know how important it is that animals are cared for and loved.
