Pet care experience
Animalover
Hello!! My name is Iris, I’m 33 yo and I’m from Paraguay. I’ve had pets my entire life, so caring for animals has always been a natural part of my life. From a young age, I was responsible for looking after our pets and developed a deep love for animals. During my university years, I also worked as a pet sitter and dog walker, caring for dogs and cats of all sizes and personalities. I have also spent many years volunteering as a foster home for cats. I honestly can’t remember a time in life when I didn’t have a foster cat at home — from newborn kittens who needed bottle-feeding to older cats who had been abandoned or needed a safe place to recover. Because of this, I’m very comfortable with animals with different personalities, needs and energy levels. I’m patient, attentive and genuinely enjoy spending time with them. Also, I used to live with my sister’s dog here in Spain, but when she moved back to Paraguay, she took Boxie with her :( Since then, I’ve really missed having animals as part of my everyday life, which is one of the reasons I decided to get back into pet sitting and spend more time around animals again.

Qualifications
Safety, trust & environment
We live in a 70 m² apartment in El Palo, in a quiet and comfortable environment. The apartment is secure, and there is no direct way for a pet to get outside or wander off. We have several large windows and two balconies where pets can enjoy some sunshine and, for cats, do a little bird watching. Of course, windows and balconies are always used responsibly and with the pet’s safety in mind. We are very careful about keeping doors and entry points secure, especially when a pet is new to the home and still getting used to its surroundings. We understand that every animal has different needs and boundaries, and we adapt our routine to make them feel safe.

Schedule
So, I work full-time from Monday to Thursday, from 8am to 6pm, but I do pet care together with my boyfriend, Michel, who is 33, German and works remotely from home. This means there is always someone at home during the day. We decided to start pet sitting together because we both love animals and would like to have pets of our own someday, but the timing isn’t right for us yet. For dogs, I would take them out for a walk in the morning before work, Michel would be at home during the day and could take them out again 1 time, and when I get back from work, I love going for long walks by the beach, as we live very close to the sea. I would make the evening walk a longer then the others during the day. For cats, Michel would be home with them throughout the day and could take care of anything they need, while I would spend time with them in the afternoons and evenings. We are both completely free on Fridays, weekends and holidays, so we can dedicate plenty of time to the pets in our care. Our goal is for every animal to feel comfortable, safe and genuinely part of our home while they are with us.
