Hi! My name is Irene and I have always loved animals since I was a child. Growing up I fed and cared for stray cats and cared for small animals of my own such as birds, Guinea Pigs, and hamsters. I also helped my senior neighbors with caring for their dogs. During my teenage years up until recently, I cared for my own dog, a spunky Jack Russell Terrier. Our favorite thing to do together was going for walks and exploring. I had the pleasure of caring for my precious girl for 12 years. I am currently a UIUC Vet Med student and have 6+ years of experience working professionally with animals as a vet assistant.

Irene is a wonderful sitter! I highly recommend booking with her. She sent photos regularly and both of my dogs seemed to enjoy their stay with her.
Irene is great! My kitty is diabetic and needs her blood sugar tested and insulin injections 2x/day. She also had a skin irritation that needed to be cleaned and bandaged twice a day. Irene did it all and took great care of my baby while I was gone.

If you are looking for someone to take care of your pet while you are away, Irene is an excellent option. I have had Irene watch my two dogs for me on two occasions while I have had to travel for work, and I have been impressed both times! Irene was never afraid to reach out to me if she ever had a concern and she would always make sure to update me with how they were doing. I felt comfortable allowing Irene to come into my house, she is very polite and considerate, and I have felt like my dogs have been in good hands both times!
Irene is amazing! Very professional, trustworthy and truly cares for all animals. 100% recommend! She also has years of animal care experience which provides comfort if pets need medications given!

I can care for your pets mainly on weekends and sometimes throughout the week. If you need to book me outside my availability I could possibly work something out if given a notice in advanced!

Safety, trust & environment
I am comfortable with dogs and cats of all sizes. When walking dogs, they will be leashed all times and prefer a non-retractable leash as they are more safe. If your cat is an indoor/outdoor cat, I will prefer to keep all cats indoor while in my care.
Pets
A typical day
I love going for walks with dogs, giving them the chance to get the physical and mental stimulation that they need. Walks will be focused on getting proper exercise and also giving time for your pet to be a dog and sniff those interesting smells they all enjoy. Most days I will be at home studying but I may need to leave a few hours at a time for required course lectures
