I recently graduated from my master’s and am spending a gap year in Amsterdam. This gives me plenty of free time to devote to pet care. I love being outdoors, so daily walks and quality playtime fit naturally into my routine. Because I am not tied to a strict work schedule, I can adapt to each pet’s needs and make sure they get all the attention they deserve. I charge 20 euros for a 1-1.5 hour solo walk, 8-10 euros per hour for day sittings (walks included) and 12-15 euros per hour for overnight stays for dogs. Catsitting at my place is 20-25 per night, depending on the busyness of the week.

I care for pets as if they were my own, making sure they feel safe and loved whether in my home or a client’s home. My apartment is pet-friendly, and my roommate, who also has lifelong experience with animals, is happy to lend a hand if needed. I always prioritize the pet’s comfort, stick to their routines, and provide updates for peace of mind. Trust, patience, and a warm environment are at the heart of my approach.

Please let me know if your dog is a rescue and/ or have experienced trauma from previous owners. My family pets in Istanbul have always been rescues from the street, and I am aware of the extra attention rescues need in home settings. Happy to provide for their needs.

A typical day with me always includes plenty of walks and attention. Since I live right between two large parks, both only about five minutes away, I usually go to the park two to three times a week all year round, and even more often when the weather is nice. Dogs I watch get to enjoy these outings, which are great for exercise and playtime. Bonus points if they love to play catch! On days when I don’t make it to the park, I always go for daily walks — usually about 30 minutes in the evening after dinner. These walks are a nice way for dogs to stretch their legs, get some fresh air, and feel relaxed before bedtime.

Caring Dog & Cat Sitter with Rescue Experience
Experiencia en el cuidado de mascotas
I grew up surrounded by animals and have cared for pets my whole life. In Istanbul, we looked after our family dog for 20 years, then I rescued both a cat (now 12) and a dog (now 9). I handle everything from feeding, brushing, and walking to providing extra attention for my rescue pets at home. In Amsterdam, I’ve also cared for my roommate’s sister’s dog and other pets, so I am comfortable with dogs and cats of all personalities and needs.
Reseñas

Irem took great care of our cat Ollie when we were on vacation. From the moment I met her I knew Ollie would be in great hands. She was communicative and shared both pictures and videos of their time together. I really appreciate her care and know that Ollie had the best time. Won’t need to look any further for a future pet sitter and would definitely recommend Irem to anyone looking for a safe place for their pet 💖
I found Irem on Instagram when I needed someone to take care of my mother’s dog, Jina, while we were traveling together. Since Jina has separation anxiety and usually struggles when away from my mom, I wanted to be sure she stayed with someone reliable and caring. From the beginning, Irem really listened to all of our instructions and even took the time to learn Farsi commands so she communicate with Jina. During the stay, Irem made sure Jina wasn’t left alone, took her on long walks in the park, and let her sleep on her bed so she felt safe and at home. When we came back to pick her up, Jina was happy and relaxed, which is rare for her after time apart from my mom. I was so grateful for the care and attention Irem gave her. I would happily recommend her to anyone looking for someone trustworthy and kind to look after their dog.
I wanted to share reference for Irem, who has helped take care of my dog, Marla, many times together with my brother. Whenever I’m away, they’ve both made sure Marla is well looked after, and it’s been a huge relief for me. Irem takes Marla on her walks, feeds her, and makes sure she’s not left alone for too long since she gets anxious. They’ve always gone out of their way to keep her comfortable and happy while I’m gone. When Marla was younger, we would either drop her off with Irem and my brother, or they would kindly pick her up to stay at their place. Now that Marla is older and prefers the familiarity of home, Irem comes over to our apartment to dog sit. No matter the arrangement, she has always made things easy for us and provided Marla with the love and attention she needs. I can wholeheartedly recommend Irem as a caring, reliable, and trustworthy dog sitter. With her, you can be sure your pet is in good hands.
