Ian has a very calm demeanor that was well received by my anxious dog. He was accommodating and took some great pictures of our dog with his professional camera. I would recommend him to anyone.

Ian is incredible! He truly takes the time to listen to all directions. My dog loves him and she’s really hesitant about guys. I would highly recommend him 😊

Ian has taken care of my pup Amber multiple times and has done an amazing job of handling her eccentricities as well as her medications (there are 12)! He has a natural way with animals and his calm personality is exactly what she needs! Ian is also great at keeping her active and engaged!! Would highly recommend Ian to anyone!!

I have used Rover several times and know the attributes I look for in a sitter; Ian possesses these in abundance. First, a true, empathetic, deep love of animals ,especially dogs, is essential. Ian has a manifest ability to connect with dogs; they can sense immediately that he is a dog lover. Second, patience with, and sensitivity to, their needs is essential. Each dog has its own quirks, likes, dislikes, triggers, fears - and a good dog sitter/walker must be aware of and accommodating of these needs and impulses. Ian is incredibly empathetic and tries to really understand and be in sync with the dog(s) he is with. Third, a good dog carer needs to be confident. Dogs know when they are being handled by someone who is uncertain or wavering in their ability to care, guide, protect and control them (especially in tense situations e.g. meeting an aggressive dog) and this can increase their anxiety. Ian exudes a confident authority that will enable him to handle any kind of situation with a dog he is caring for. Finally, clear communication with the owner is key. Ian is an adept user of social media and technology and will stay in frequent (and reassuring!) touch with the dog’s family when he is caring for them. Ian is an excellent dog carer – whether for a walk, a drop in or overnight sitting situation. He loves hiking and athletic pursuits so can keep up with the livelier dogs, and can be calm with those that need more quiet care. His profound love of and desire to do his best for dogs he is around is clear to anyone watching him interact with them – and the dogs also know it! Cynthia S
