Highlights
Pet care experience
Retired couple pet lovers.
Sitting your dog is not a "side hustle" for us as it is for so many. We don't do house-sitting, drop-in visits, door dash, or drive for Uber. We just have a love for all dogs and will never leave your dog alone! On your first visit, you will be invited into our home to see where your doggy will be staying, and then watch your pup meet our dogs in our beautiful back yard. Of course, your welcome to come by anytime to visit or pick your pup up for any dog friendly outings that Big Bear has to offer. We're both retired and have had dogs our whole lives and we want to treat yours as family members. Hugh is a retired Fire Captain/EMT instructor experienced in Dog CPR, and Mary is a retired owner of an air freight forwarding company. We are very close to Snow Summit and the Village!! We'd love to have your doggy join our family!

Ratings and reviews
Hugh and Mary are wonderful. My very active dog loves to visit them. It’s great to leave my dogs at their place. I know they love their home and are in good hands.

Our pup Elsa is a happy repeat vacationer - she has a blast playing with other dogs and snuggling with Hugh and Mary, and we have peace of mind that she’s safe and loved while we’re away.

Hugh and Mary were wonderful. They took great care of Dakota and Ruby and provided some updates and pictures throughout the day. We would definitely consider them again when we are back in Big Bear.

Hugh and Mary took fantastic care of my pup, Penny. I was grateful to receive photos and updates throughout the day. They obviously love dogs, and Penny could tell that! She came back happy and tired from her fun day. Thank you, Hugh and Mary!

They took great care of our Patsy and gave us nice updates!😊

Darla was wonderfully taken care of by Hugh and Mary. They kept us up to date on the happenings while we were gone and it was very obvious that Darla was getting amazing treatment during her stay. We will be coming back for sure!

Home characteristics
Safety, trust & environment
We have a beautiful fenced back yard and a cozy warm house and your pet will have the run of it all, beds and couches included. We have a large crate if ever needed. Our home is between Snow Summit and the Village.
A typical day
Lots of back and tummy rubs are a daily staple in our home. We have a big 6' fenced back yard that all dogs love to play in. We have 2 doggy doors so your pup can go in and out as they please. Our dogs will teach them how to use them! We carve out a "doggy racetrack" that winds around our back yard when there's lots of snow and the doggies love it! You're welcome to bring your doggies bed, but most of our guests much prefer to sleep with us in our beds.

- Please let us know if your dog has any special needs. We only accept dogs that are friendly with people and other dogs when they are off leash. Don't confuse that if your doggie displays signs of aggression while on leash between other dogs. That is very common, as is a quick growl, saying "give me a few minutes until I get to know you". We need to know your dog's dietary needs.
