Pet care experience

Recovering New Yorker

Hi, there! I'm Hope (she/her). I recently moved to Philadelphia after a decade of living in New York City (originally from Asheville, North Carolina). I've been taking care of dogs and cats there for around 8 years. I make sure they get the exercise they need, keep their water bowls full, and their tummies happy. I am immune to the puppy dog eyes and cat meows begging for extra treats or human food, but I fall hard for tummy rubs! I'm not able to have pets of my own, so cat and dog sitting helps me fill that void in my life.

Safety, trust & environment

I strictly visit my client's home. I try to treat it as my own. I'm happy to offer my own thoughts after my personal experience if asked, but I am here to make sure that you feel safe and comfortable leaving your pet with me, so I follow your guidance. I understand and respect that it is a struggle to leave your pet in the care of a new person. I will do everything I can to make both you and your pet feel comfortable in my care.

Whenever we come home from a trip our pups are calm, relaxed, healthy, and happy to see us. To us, that is a testament to the level of care Hope provides during each sit. She has our full trust with our home and our doggos. We can’t recommend her enough.

Hope took wonderful care of our two dachshunds, Butters and Remy, during an overnight stay while we were out of town. She was communicative and thoughtful throughout the visit, sending photos and updates that gave us peace of mind while we were away. Our two guys can be a little anxious (read: barky), and Hope handled their quirks with total grace and patience, which we really appreciated. When we returned, the dogs were happy and relaxed, and our home was in great shape. It was clear they were well cared for and had a comfortable time with her. We would absolutely book with her again and recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, attentive sitter.

Schedule

I work remotely in live transcription. This means I'm generally home most of the day. My schedule varies greatly from day to day, but I generally have some flexibility. I generally go to bed on the early side so I can wake up early.

Cats
0 to 15 lbs
16 to 40 lbs
Dogs over 1 year old
Hope can host up to 2 drop-ins per day
I always need to know general information, like when they eat, how much, and what the guidelines are about treats. It's helpful to know if they are picky eaters or eat extremely quickly and require an extra eye. Obviously, knowing where the vet is and having that phone number posted is important. I also want to know if you're planning to have your phone off or if you'd like regular updates and/or photos. I give you fair warning--when asked for photos, I will bombard you with photos of your pet, who I am certain is the greatest pet of all time.
Each sitter joining Rover needs to pass a background check. And by booking on Rover, you can get photo & message updates, 24/7 support, and reimbursement for eligible vet care.
