Trusted, Loving Care for Your Dog

I’ve trained a 1-year-old Doberman and lived with a Pomeranian and Shiba Inu for several years as their daily companion. I've also had a full course of private training sessions (1 on 1) with Petsmart trainer, so I am very adept at making sure your dog is comfortable and well taken care of. From feeding to playtime, I was involved in every part of their care. I have a calm, friendly energy that dogs naturally gravitate toward—it’s like magic how quickly they bond with me! I combine hands-on training experience with daily companionship, giving me insight into each dog’s unique personality and needs. Whether it’s energetic play or gentle senior care, I adapt with ease and genuine love. Dogs don’t just tolerate me—they truly enjoy being around me. I will always take pictures and videos and send them to owners frequently, to make sure your pets are enjoying every moment with me. My wife and I like to keep a very clean house to make sure all visiting dogs have a comfortable environment.

My dog, Lula, and I met up with Hongbin a couple of weeks before her stay with Hongbin, to see if we were a good fit. We discussed Lula's schedule, her habits, and her temperament (she's goofy, smart, and dramatic, probably due to being part Husky). We covered that Lula has never had an issue with any person or dog. I let Hongbin know that my husband and I would be traveling to the Southwest for some hiking so we wouldn’t be nearby when Lula was with them. The afternoon before our early-morning flight, I dropped Lula off at Hongbin’s house. Within ten minutes, Honbin texted me that he was nervous that Lula was going to bite him. Lula has never bitten anyone, but Hongbin had been bitten the week before by one of his Rover dogs. He said that Lula was in a "defensive stance" and sent photos. In the photos, she was hiding behind a table, so my husband and I told him to just let her be an ‘invisible dog’ for an hour or so and she'd be able to relax. For the next couple of hours, Hongbin and his wife tried to coax my dog into playing and interacting with them. Lula wouldn’t play and instead laid down at the front door. I now understand that Hongbin and his wife are inexperienced with taking care of dogs; they failed to pick up on basic dog body language and were not able to follow our advice to just let her settle. Because Hongbin was so uncomfortable with Lula, we went to pick her up. (He said he was not confident that he could care for her so of course, we were not either.) We had to scramble to cobble together a care plan for Lula, which included five sets of our neighbors. It was incredibly stressful to try to put an adequate, last-minute, neighborhood-based schedule in place for our dog, who we obviously care very deeply about. Because of all of this turmoil, I had to really squeeze in packing and preparing for my trip and ended up pretty exhausted before my trip even began. Because of Hongbin, a good chunk of my time traveling included thinking about Lula and corresponding with my friends and neighbors to make sure that she was getting what she needed. I wish Hongbin would have spoken more honestly about his experience, both in caring for dogs and in being bitten by a dog. Because he wasn’t honest, we had a really stressful trip instead of a relaxing one. I have had nothing but good or even great experiences with Rover before Hongbin, but after this experience, I will probably steer clear of using this app—the ordeal was truly that stressful. I highly recommend not using Hongbin.

We had such a great experience! He took amazing care of our dogs this past weekend and kept us updated the entire time with lots of pictures and messages, which really gave us peace of mind. Our pup got a little anxious while away from us, and he handled it so patiently and well. You can tell he genuinely cares about the dogs he watches. I would definitely recommend him to others and would absolutely book with him again!

Hongbin and his wife were such wonderful dog sitters, I would highly recommend them to all my friends and family! He watched my dog, Tucker, while I was traveling internationally, and it was incredibly comforting knowing he was in such great hands. Hongbin was always prompt in responding to my messages and sent 4-5 pictures/videos every day, which I truly appreciated. You can tell he genuinely loves dogs as he picked up on all of Tuckers’s unique quirks and personality traits right away. As Tucker has gotten older, he occasionally gets a slight limp. Hongbin kept me updated about it and even blocked off the stairs to prevent unnecessary strain, which meant a lot. When an ice storm delayed my flights by three extra days, he graciously agreed to watch Tucker for the additional time. It took a huge weight off my shoulders while navigating the stress of multiple cancellations. I am so grateful for the care and attention Hongbin provided and the way Tucker was treated like his family.

I’d love to know your pet’s daily routine, energy level, and any special needs—like medical conditions, allergies, or behavior triggers. Are they shy, social, or somewhere in between? Do they get along with other dogs or prefer solo time? Let me know what comforts them, what they enjoy, and anything you’d like me to avoid. The more I know, the better I can make them feel safe, happy, and at home.
