This is obviously different for each type of animal. It would also depend on the pet themselves as many animals may have their own personalities and needs.

Information Holly V. would like to know about your pet

I have been around rowdy dogs before, and dogs that tend to nip in a non-aggressive way. I've never been with an animal that is actively aggressive toward people, but have been around dogs that get antsy over other dogs. If there is a specific way to calm the pet, I would need to know of course. But I'm not trained to deal with extreme cases.

A typical day

That really depends on the pet. I'll work or hang out on my own until a pet needs me, or I will take time to play if it has toys or if they expect a walk or any kind of other activity. Please note I'm actively looking for work - so some aspects of my daily routine may change in short notice.

Pet care experience

As an owner I only have a little turtle at home. However, as a sitter, I've taken care of dogs, cats, chickens, rabbits, and hamsters - usually multiple at the same time.

This was our first experience with booking on Rover. We chose Holly as she was recommended by friends in our community. Holly is shy, but pleasant. Pluses - the house was in order when returned. Pets not stressed and alive. Minuses - Holly was 1.5 hours late day 1. I received very little communication from Holly. I only received one message from her 1st about the dog. Anything else about the dog only came in response to a text from me. The night before the end date she asked when I needed her to stay until. She didn’t not follow those instructions and left 1.5 hours before I advised was okay to go. We advised not to leave the dog crated more than 4 hours, and one day she left the dog crated 4.5 hours. Her response after the fact was she didn’t intend to. The cats water fountain was almost empty upon return home. There will piles of dog feces in the yard. She was given clear instructions about everything. I’m disappointed this is how our first experience started out. I did request $26.25 to be refunded for the shorted hours. She submitted a request to refund $100 which is unreasonable. I just want back what we were shorted. I hope she learns from this job and advice I’ve provided to her.

Holly watched our dog for a few days at our home. She was excellent with our pup who sometimes is a little grumpy. We were extremely comfortable with her caring for our dog in our house. Holly provided updates and pictures to us while we were away. If we ever need a sitter again Holly will be our first choice.

Holly is grreat! She arrives on time, gives the puppies plenty of playtime and makes sure they are safely in their crate when she leaves.

Winnie loves Holly! I’m so thankful to have her take care of my pup through the week!
