Availability

For the last several years I have been a full time caregiver to a special needs child, but now that they are in school full time, I have more availability. I use my downtown art studio (if you google Holly Paws…) as a base and will often go from there to whatever job is needed. I am available for last minute bookings and understand that life happens, so if my schedule shows that I am available, please feel free to reach out. I also understand that plans can change after we have confirmed services, and I’m always happy to work with my new and returning clients to ensure a smooth experience. Once a booking has been confirmed, my change and cancellation policy is the same as my last minute request policy which is as follows: -I kindly ask that new and returning clients try to send all booking requests 48 hours or more in advance. -Rover cancellation policy is dependent on service. 1 day cancellation policy for walks, 3 day cancellation policy for drop in and day care, 7 day cancellation policy for boarding and house sits. -This policy ensures a safe, transparent process, and allows me to give your pets the best care while respecting everyone’s time. I’m happy to discuss financial needs on a case by case basis. -For clients outside of Missoula city limits, there is an additional $0.50 per mile for those locations due to gas, wear and tear on a vehicle, and time. Extra fees may apply to clients in the Wye, Frenchtown, Ronan, Lolo, and Bitterroot areas.

Safety, trust & environment

Safety is my first priority with everyone and everything. I always keep dogs on leash and I do not have them interact with other dogs while they’re in my care to mitigate the risk of any incidents happening. If your dog or cat has ever shown aggression towards other dogs, cats, or children, please let me know. No judgment — we can work together to create a plan that ensures everyone is safe. Failure to disclose known aggression is an automatic service cancellation. Please note: -There is an additional charge for very large dogs that is the same as my puppy rate (+$10 per day). I LOVE big dogs and I know how much work they require! My pricing reflects my experience and ability to handle larger breeds.

Information Holly S. would like to know about your pet

Please let me know if your pet has any special needs so I can accommodate them during our time together. I am experienced in administering medications (oral, injectable, complex, etc) and have worked with pets with multiple needs, including seniors, diabetic, or post-op pets. My mother in law is a vet and my partner grew up learning animal care, so we’re well versed in it. It’s important for me to know your pet’s medical history, including behavioral, dietary restrictions or preferences, medications, veterinarian (main and emergency), and an emergency contact in case I can’t reach you. Thank you for understanding!

A typical day

I love taking dogs on runs if they’re up for it but I have many clients who ‘read the billboards’ (stopping for many smell breaks and going slow) so they can properly explore new places. I often walk close to the client’s home. If their diet allows, sometimes we walk to a local ice cream spot for a pup cone! I start and end an activity with a zukes training treat and use them (alongside a clicker if applicable) to incentivize good behavior during the service. Typically for house sits where I stay overnight I will get the animals fed and taken care of and then depart for 4-6 hours, depending on the needs of the animals. Returning to check on them once to twice between breakfast and dinner (again, depending on the animals). We often go for walks and will cuddle and watch a movie before bed. A typical walk is base 30 with options to extend. A typical drop in is 30 minutes with options to extend. A typical day care is 8 hours. A typical board is overnight care in my home. I am not currently taking new boarding clients except on a limited case by case basis.

Pet care experience

Use code HOLLYS16560 to get $20 your first booking if you’re new to Rover! Hi, my name is Holly and I am a full time caregiver for both two-legged and four-legged creatures. I have experience caring for animals of all sizes, backgrounds, and ages. I have helped clients with their senior animals navigate difficult health issues with grace, dignity, and compassion, as well as help families adapt after they bring home their newest addition in kitten or puppy form. I am familiar with fragile animals that might need some extra TLC and my prices reflect my understanding of the care it takes to help animals and people thrive. I was encouraged to offer my services through Rover and started on this platform in October 2024, and created Montana Pet Services (Rover clients) and Holly Paws (private clients) in March 2025. I am proud to continue to expand my network to those in Missoula, the Bitterroot Valley, and for those just visiting our beautiful state. I value and cherish the relationships I make with my clients and their animals that they have trusted me with and many turn into regular clientele. I am always happy to share some references if you’d like. I know how tough it is finding the right caregiver and I’d rather help you than leave you hanging. Outside of animal care, I am a visual artist and enjoy running, gardening, fly fishing, and zumba. My dedication to managing my child’s medical care has honed my attention to detail, reliable and quick communication, and commitment to providing the best life possible for my loved ones at all times. I believe it translates really well to the demands of this job. I’m excited to be able to offer my services to the Missoula community and I look forward to any questions you may have. Thank you for reading & please feel free to reach out! Holly
