A holiday for working breeds 🐾
I’ve grown up around dogs my whole life, with two chihuahuas, a border collie, golden retriever and Jack Russell in my family, so I’m very comfortable with dogs of different sizes, personalities and energy levels. I am particularly familiar with and interested in working and herding breeds such as collies and shepherds. Over the past five years, I’ve also looked after dogs for friends and neighbours, including walking, feeding, playing with them and making sure they feel happy and comfortable while their owners are away. I currently share a retired military Belgian malinois, Charlie, with my aunt and uncle, which has given me even more experience with intelligent, energetic and active dogs. He stays with my aunt and uncle on any days that I’m dog sitting, so he won’t be present at the home while I’m caring for your dog. He may join us on walks if this is something you are happy with. I’m happy to follow your dog’s usual routine, whether that means energetic walks and playtime or plenty of cuddles and company. I’ll treat your dog with the same care and attention I’d want for my own, and I’m also happy to provide regular updates while they’re in my care

I would highly recommend Holly to anyone looking for someone they can completely trust with their beloved pets. Holly has always had a genuine love and understanding of animals, and she is incredibly caring, responsible and attentive when looking after them. She doesn’t simply make sure they are fed and exercised — she takes the time to get to know each animal and notice their individual needs and behaviour. One of Holly’s greatest strengths is how observant she is. She is very quick to recognise when an animal isn’t quite themselves, and she would never ignore something that concerned her. If she felt a dog was unwell or needed attention, I know she would act promptly and, where necessary, contact a vet rather than taking any chances. Holly also has a Master’s degree in Zoology, which gives her an excellent understanding of animals and their behaviour, but what really stands out is the genuine affection and compassion she has for them. If I needed someone to look after my dog, I would have complete confidence in Holly. I would know that my pet was not only being well cared for, but was in the hands of someone who genuinely loves animals and takes their wellbeing seriously. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend her.

Schedule
I work flexibly from home and have plenty of time for walks and playtime. I am available all day Tuesday to Thursday. I will have no other dogs at home during these times.

Safety, trust & environment
Pets will be under my supervision at all times. I have a secure, fenced garden and I only look after one dog at a time. I don't let dogs off lead until I can be confident in their recall with me. This will often involve taking them to a secure field after getting to know them for a while, and practicing recall. I keep a well stocked canine first aid kit at home.

I live nearby to the river and common, so your dog can expect lots of walks at their pace with some very interesting sniffs! I am all about keeping dogs mentally stimulated as well as physically exercised, and have a host of games we can play.
