I’m a master’s student with a genuine love for dogs and a flexible routine that allows me to provide reliable weekend care. I also work part-time in the city, but with the right notice and the right dog, I’m happy to adjust my schedule to suit your needs. I live in a cosy maisonette with a small fenced yard, just a short walk from Paddy Freeman Park and Jesmond Dene. These spots are perfect for walks, playtime, and a bit of outdoor adventure. I also have access to a car, so when possible, I love taking dogs to the beach for a change of scenery. My goal is to make every dog feel safe, relaxed, and well cared for while you’re away. I treat each booking with the same attention and care I’d want for my own pets, ensuring your dog feels right at home.

Safety, trust & environment

Your dog’s safety and wellbeing are always my top priority. I take care to ensure that anything potentially harmful, including toxic foods, small chewable items, and cleaning products, is stored securely and out of reach. In my home, I create a calm and secure environment where dogs can settle in comfortably and feel at ease. I pay close attention to how each pet adjusts and make sure they feel relaxed and confident in their surroundings. When caring for pets in their own home, I maintain their usual routines and follow your guidance to keep things consistent and familiar. No matter the setting, I’m committed to providing a safe, trustworthy, and caring experience so you can have complete peace of mind while you’re away.

Information Holly L. would like to know about your pet

It’s important for me to know about any dietary requirements, allergies, or medical needs so I can stick to their routine and avoid any issues. I also ask about their behaviours, triggers, and any special requirements—whether they’re nervous around other dogs, react to certain noises, or need extra patience in new environments. Understanding their energy levels, favourite activities, and comfort zones helps me tailor their care to keep them happy and stress-free. The more I know, the better I can make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and well looked after!

A typical day

A typical day with me is full of fun, exercise, and plenty of attention. Mornings usually start with a nice walk to get some fresh air and stretch our legs, whether it’s a stroll around the neighbourhood, a visit to Jesmond Dene for some nature-filled exploring, or even a trip to the beach if your dog enjoys travelling in the car. Throughout the day, I make sure there’s a balance of playtime, cuddles, and enrichment to keep them happy and engaged. That might mean enjoying their favourite toys, practising a bit of basic training, or simply relaxing together. Every dog has their own rhythm, so I always tailor our day to their needs, whether they’re full of energy and love long walks or prefer a slower pace with plenty of company. Evenings are calm and comforting, often with another gentle walk before settling in for a relaxing night so your dog feels safe, content, and at home.

Pet care experience

I’ve been around dogs my whole life and truly can’t imagine a home without them. I have hands-on experience with pups of all ages, from playful puppies to gentle seniors, and love getting to know each dog’s unique personality. At home, I’ve raised and trained my two wonderful companions: a 15-year-old Beagle-Fox Terrier cross and an 9-year-old Black Lab. Together we’ve worked on obedience, recall, and even a bit of agility training for fun. I’ve also cared for the dogs of family and friends whenever they’re away, making sure they get plenty of walks, cuddles, and attention. What really sets me apart is my genuine love for animals and my calm, patient approach. Whether I’m keeping up with an energetic pup or providing comfort to an older dog who just wants a quiet companion, every dog deserves care that feels like home, and that’s exactly what I aim to provide.

Holly was amazing with Eddie. We got lots of photos and videos of him out and about, playing and being walked. He's come home happy and exhausted from all the fun that he's had. We would definitely look to book Holly again in the future.

It was the first time we’ve used Rover and honestly Holly was amazing! We were so nervous to leave Rex with someone other than family, but Holly sent regular updates and photos which kept our minds at ease. Rex seemed to settle well and enjoyed his stay. Thank you!💙🐾
