Availability

I currently work part-time as a retail assistant at Shakespeare’s Birthplace Trust and Anne Hathaway’s Cottage. Due to this, I live in the centre of Stratford-upon-Avon town. My flat is only a 10 minute walk away from the Shottery fields and the river Avon, so I have access to a variety of beautiful locations for walks. My current working pattern means that I am available every other weekend for sits, as well as being free to do some weekday sits. If the sit coincided with any of my working days, I would be available from 7pm-7am for an overnight sit or to do a drop-in visit.

Safety, trust & environment

I appreciate that every pet has different energy levels and needs, so I am more than happy to stick to any pre-established routine. I aim to provide exercise, stimulative play, company, fuss and cuddles, alongside the basics of providing food, water and toilet breaks for the pet. I am also trained in dog first aid, so I am able to remain calm under pressure and respond to any crisis that may arise. I am happy to administer any regular medications that are needed, so long as there is open communication about this between myself and the pet owner prior to/during the sit. I am also more than happy to provide photos and updates to the pet owner during the sit.

Hi, I’m Holly.

Pet care experience

I am 27 years old and adore animals, with a particular soft spot for Labradors. I currently work part-time as a retail assistant at Shakespeare’s Birthplace Trust and Anne Hathaway’s Cottage shops. I live in the centre of Stratford-upon-Avon town, a 10 minute walk away from the Shottery fields and the river Avon, so I have access to a variety of beautiful locations for walks. I am responsible, reliable, organised and detailed-oriented, both in my professional and personal life. I am experienced looking after a variety of pets. From a young age, we had a family rescue dog (a Labrador and Rottweiler cross, named Harry) so I have experience with larger breeds. I was responsible from the age of 13 for my beautiful chocolate Labrador, Rolo. I was heavily involved in training her as puppy, reading up on tips and tricks to help her learn easy commands and toilet training as easily as possible. We had very little accidents in the house as a result. We had a cat from five years before we brought our gorgeous puppy home and managed to integrate them to each other easily enough, so I am experienced in both canine and feline care. They became the best of friends over the years, although Rolo would still bark at and attempt to chase other cats, so I was always aware and cautious of this when out on walks. I trained her for on and off lead walking, ensuring good recall skills for the variety of walks and activities we enjoyed together over the 12 wonderful years I was privileged to have with her. She adored swimming and spending time with her best furry friend, a labradoodle called Koda and we had many wonderful walks, sleepovers and beach trips with the two of them, so I am experienced in handling multiple dogs at a time. I love spending time with all animals and have spent a good amount of time with friends and family members’ pets as well as my own. I appreciate that every dog or cat has different energy levels and needs, so I am more than happy to stick to any pre-established routine. I am also trained in dog first aid, so am able to remain calm under pressure and respond to any crisis that may arise. I am happy to administer any medications that are needed, so long as there is open communication about this between myself and the pet owner prior to the sit. I meet a variety of dogs in my workplace on a day to day basis and have experience interacting with service dogs and their owners - whether this be for sight loss, hearing loss, anxiety issues, mental health or assistance dogs - as I help with answering queries about accessibility to both Shakespeare’s Birthplace and Anne Hathaway’s cottage. I am also often on biscuit duty for the four-pawed customers who come through the shops, as I am comfortable assessing how best to approach each individual dog and their owners. I truly believe that any pet is an extension of the family and should be treated with the same kind of attention, love and care. I am dedicated to providing warm, friendly, stimulating care for your pet, being attentive to their needs in the aim of allowing them to feel comfortable and relaxed with a pet sitter in their home.

It was Holly’s first visit but she took the time to get to know the dogs. I have one who’s really not good with new people, but the fact she was able to take a pic of him sitting quietly in the garden speaks volumes. Delighted to have found someone reliable and fairly close by who I can call on when I can’t be there myself.

Holly is great! Our Labrador took to her straight away and it was obvious that Holly loved our Labrador too! Peace of mind that our lovely fur baby is in loving capable hands. Holly has grown up with dogs and has a lot of experience with all dogs but it’s good to know she has experience with Labradors too so a bonus!
