A lifetime of experience!
Some of my first memories are of my dog Brownie. My mother raised Springer Spaniels for some time, and after that we had a Labrador, a Newfoundland, three Shitzu's and beloved little Scotty named Jimmy McPierce. I am a gardener by trade so I started petsitting/dogwalking professionally years ago, as a way to generate extra income during the winter months. What can I offer your pet? Personalized care. I understand that every animal has it's own personality quirks. I can work with that! If you have special commands or routines for your pet, please let me know in advance so I know how to best care for your pet. I go above and beyond most sitters because I deeply care for the emotional wellbeing of animals. How many can I watch at once? Multiple pets are not a problem, more the merrier. What if my dog or cat needs to be given medication? I have many clients whose pets require medication. I can administer shots if you have a diabetic in the family. What if my pet is high energy? I am a very active person so if your pup likes to go on runs or hikes, please let me know. I love to play with frisky cats too!

Hilda was great with our anxious dog, by taking her for a nice long walk and providing a calm environment. Communication is fantastic. The house was in perfect order (better than we left it). We recommend Hilda!

Hilda is a natural when it comes to taking care of dogs! She looks after them as if they are her own, and loves taking them on long walks. Dogs always seem to be very happy when in her care, and I would definitely recommend her services.
Hilda stayed at our house and watched our dog and cat. She was wonderfully professional and as a bonus a wonderful house sitter as we came home to a cleaner house than we left it! I would not hesitate to hire her again.

Schedule
I tend to be busier in the summer and therefore don't take on as many clients, but devote most of my time to caring for pets during winter months. However, if you are located somewhere close to my work in the summer, then overnights shouldn’t be a problem as long as your pet can be alone for around six hours.

I will consider taking certain dogs into my home for overnights if it is the right fit. I don't own my own house, so I must be sure they will not damage anything. Cats are also welcome if they meet the same behavioral standards.
A typical day
I am an avid hiker, runner, and all around active person. I love a good game of fetch, or tug-of-war! Happy to monitor two pups at play with each other if you have multiple dogs.

- Of course if there are certain things your pet LOVES or responds well to, I would be very interested to know. These things make my job easier, and your pet happier. Every animal has a unique personality, and this can take time to learn. I have found it is much faster to hear it from the ones who know best- you! The pet parent. Some animals have PTSD if they spent some of their life in a shelter or an abusive situation. I aim to be as sensitive to these factors which contribute to how your pet reacts to certain stimuli. Honesty is the best policy when it comes to pet care so don’t be afraid to tell me about all the quirky behaviors, I promise that nothing surprises me at this point.
