College Student who loves animals

I have always been the primary caretaker of the animals in my house. I now own a cat and two dogs. One of my dogs is very elderly and requires a lot of attention. Besides my history with animals, I have been on Rover for more than 3 years. I downloaded this app to have some income while I studied at college. I am currently in pre-ultrasound and plan to graduate in the next couple years. Since I'm going to college, I am not currently working, so I have plenty of time to look after your furry friends. I'm almost always available, and I consider myself very flexible. I speak English and Spanish fluently Yo hablo español !

Hilda is great with my dogs. One is 16 and one is high energy so she can take care of any kind of dog. She has been doing drop-ins for me for two years and has done some overnights as well. Like most dog owners, I am very particular with who I trust around my dogs. I trust and recommend Hilda 100%!

Absolutely — here’s a short, warm review: Hilda was wonderful! She took great care of my cat while I was away and gave me peace of mind knowing everything was taken care of. She was reliable, caring, and easy to communicate with. I would definitely book with her again!

House Sitting • Jul 28, 2026

I am so upset by my experience with Hilda. I hired her as a pet/house sitter for my dog and 5 cats for 2 nights, and I specifically booked an overnight sitter because my dog is not used to being alone overnight. At our m&g, Hilda assured us she would stay overnight in our home, and even said she wouldn’t be leaving the house much at all because her classes had finished and she didn’t have many other bookings. We received a few pics from her on day 1, with a question or two but no real updates. Day 2, we received some pics throughout the day, with no written updates. We later discovered via home security footage that Hilda left our home from 11:18PM-4:22AM, clearly dressed up to go to a nighttime event (party/show/club?), despite texting us between 11PM-12:30AM as if she was currently in our home and all was well. She claimed she had “just been sleeping and hanging around” with my dog. Instead, my dog was alone at home during the prime OVERNIGHT hours that I hired Hilda to be with him. She was also gone from approx 6-9PM, so she really only spent about 2 hours in my home that night. When she returned at 4:22 AM, she immediately took my dog out for a walk from approx 4:30-5AM, still scantily dressed and simultaneously distracted on a phone call. This put my dog’s safety at risk- I never would have OK’ed a walk at this hour, especially while distracted and vulnerable. When we confronted her that afternoon, she immediately apologized and claimed she “went to a show” and must have lost track of time. Then, she claimed she was waiting on a ride, then later switched to someone borrowed her car and she was stuck. None of these excuses are acceptable when she was hired to stay overnight in my home with my pets. She offered a refund, but then did not follow through on this, and instead blocked me. I am so blown away by her behavior and confused by her glowing reviews. Aside from being gone overnight, she sent no real updates on how my pets were doing- I specifically requested some extra care & attention for my “special” cat who is separated from the rest, and I did not receive a single update about him (only one photo when she first arrived).
