Pet care is a natural and enjoyable part of our daily routine. Since we own and operate a business here in Summerville, we have the flexibility to work from home whenever we have pets in our care. This allows us to give them plenty of attention, companionship, and supervision throughout the day (not just quick check-ins). Our days typically include regular walks, playtime, feeding on your pet’s schedule, and lots of affection. We’re used to structuring our routine around the needs of each pet, whether that means extra outdoor time, sticking to a specific medication schedule, or simply providing a calm, comfortable environment. Because of our flexible schedule, your pet won’t be left alone for long stretches, and we’re able to adjust our day to make sure they feel safe, happy, and well cared for.

Safety, trust & environment

We provide a safe, active, and loving environment for dogs in our home. Pups have access to a fully fenced yard for supervised outdoor time, along with daily walks to keep them happy and exercised. We also take advantage of our neighborhood dog park for play sessions. Our days include lots of ball throwing and space to run and burn off energy. Our Winnie loves dog park friends! Inside, dogs are treated like part of the family. Our three boys love to play (especially a good game of tug!) and give plenty of attention and affection, so your dog will never feel lonely. We’re mindful of each dog’s temperament and energy level to make sure play stays safe and enjoyable for everyone. We’re also equipped for the not-so-glamorous parts of pet care—our large garden tub with a handheld dog shower makes bath time easy and stress-free if needed. Overall, we focus on creating a comfortable, fun, and caring environment where every dog feels safe, loved, and right at home.

Information Hilary & Timothy B. would like to know about your pet

It’s important for us to learn as much as possible about each dog ahead of time so we can ensure a great fit and a safe, happy environment for everyone. We do best with dogs who are friendly, social, and enjoy being around other dogs, as well as those who already know basic commands and respond well to direction. We also require that dogs staying in our home are fully potty trained and have a history of positive socialization, including being comfortable around cats. This helps us maintain a smooth, low-stress environment for all pets in our care. For the safety of our children, as well as our own dog and cat, we require a first-time meet and greet before confirming any stay. This allows us to make sure everyone is comfortable and that it’s the right fit for both your pet and our home. Before any stay, we also like to discuss your dog’s routine, personality, energy level, and any specific needs so we can provide the best possible experience and make them feel right at home.

A typical day

We love keeping dogs both physically active and mentally engaged during their stay with us. Each day typically includes walks around the neighborhood, playtime in our fenced yard, and trips to the dog park for running, and games like fetch to help burn off energy. In addition to physical activity, we focus on mental stimulation as well. We use snuffle mats, puzzle toys, and brain teaser treat games to keep dogs engaged and challenged. We also enjoy “sniff walks,” where we slow things down and let dogs explore the world through their nose, which is incredibly enriching and calming for them. Inside the home, there is always time for play, whether it’s tug-of-war, interactive games, or just spending time with our family. We like to tailor activities to each dog’s personality and energy level, making sure they are having fun, staying stimulated, and feeling right at home.

Pet care experience

We’re a family of five who genuinely loves animals, and our home offers plenty of attention, affection, and companionship. Our friendly 1.5-year-old rescue mix loves making new friends, giving visiting pets built-in socialization in a safe, loving environment. We provide personalized care for each pet’s needs, including patience with young dogs, attentive senior care, and a comfortable home setting rather than a kennel atmosphere. For us, Rover is more than pet sitting—it’s about creating a trusted home-away-from-home for your furry family member.
