Only the Best for Your Dog(s)!

When it comes to care for your canine family member, I want you to have complete peace of mind as if you were there yourself. I will show up at the time we have arranged. I will let you know I arrived (if you wish). I will send you a photo of your baby (if you like). Solid communication and decades of experience caring for dogs--including difficult dogs--set me apart. I can help house train your puppy. I absolutely love geriatric dogs. Big dogs are great. Loud dogs are fine. Jumpy dogs are A-ok. As a volunteer in dog rescue and a dog foster home, I am accustomed to managing many combinations of dogs and behavior. Only the best care for your baby!

I’ll first start off by saying that I’m extremely grateful to have been able to book with Hilary, as I had made the request just 5 days prior to my trip. I was going to Busch Gardens with family and needed care for my dog for the day. As a first time Rover user, I was hoping for a more reassuring experience. I communicated to the sitter that this was my first time using Rover and provided my availability for a meet and greet, but I was never given a time or place to meet beforehand. Since she has 2 large dogs who would also be around my dog during the stay, I specifically wanted the opportunity to meet them and make sure everyone was comfortable. At the same time, with it being just 5 days before me dropping off my dog, I didn’t want to press the issue. However, when I arrived for drop-off, I was shown the backyard where my dog would be allowed to roam, but my dog was then taken inside and I never met the other dogs. The sitter advertises that she and her husband provide the dog sitting together. I was told she would be leaving for a tennis match that day and that my dog would be staying with her husband. However, I was never introduced to him, which made me uncomfortable. If someone else will be responsible for my dog while I’m away, I feel that I should at least meet them beforehand. There were also a few smaller things that left me uncertain about how my dog’s stay was handled. The sitter texted shortly after drop-off to ask whether the blanket I packed was intended to cover my dog at night, and I confirmed that it was. She’s 11 years old and gets cold easily. When I unpacked the blanket afterward, I noticed it was folded exactly as I had packed it with the dryer sheet I had placed inside still there. It’s possible that she used her own blankets, but if that was the case, I would appreciate being told. I also had to ask for pictures during the stay rather than receiving updates proactively, with the exception of the first picture that she sent of her integrating the dogs. One other interaction at pickup added to my overall impression. While I was speaking with the sitter, my dog went potty on her lawn. I immediately picked it up with one of my doggy bags, and although she saw me do so, I wasn’t told where I could dispose of the bag. She departed and I was left standing in the drive way with the bag. To be fair, my dog seemed comfortable with the sitter when we left, and ultimately that is the most important thing to me. I had an insane amount of anxiety leaving her and was happy to see that she was in good spirits when I returned. However, as a first-time Rover user, I found the lack of communication and introductions concerning, and the overall experience did not give me the confidence I was hoping to have when leaving my dog with someone new. I would encourage the sitter to be more proactive about meet-and-greets, introducing all people and dogs who will be involved in the stay, and providing regular updates to help first-time clients feel more comfortable.

Hilary & Lucas were great with our dog Ollie. They made sure to address concerns and needs of our dog prior to drop off and send daily pics and updates during his stay. Would 100% book again!

We had such a wonderful experience with our dog sitter! She was incredibly communicative the entire time, even though we couldn’t communicate back much while on our cruise, which gave us so much peace of mind. We loved receiving regular updates and photos which made being away from our family fur baby so much easier. Her home and fenced-in yard are set up for dogs, creating a safe and comfortable environment where they can really thrive and have fun and freedom . You can tell she genuinely understands dogs, and her background in training really shows in how she interacts with them. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience and would absolutely trust her again and recommend her to Others!
