Loving vicariously through sitting
I have loved all pets since childhood. Our family currently has one dog and is dreaming of a second. I'm dog sitting to save up and direct some of that extra love in a helpful way. I walk our current dog 1.5 miles daily. Our family has worked hard on training as she is 80+ lbs. I love Zac George's philosophy of mutual respect with our pets. I have also learned a lot from my daughter's 4H dog project classes. I frequently walk neighborhood dogs for midday breaks and host friends' dogs overnight when they go out of town.

Schedule
I currently homeschool my kids and our schedule is very flexible. I am home with the kids all day most days. I love weekends at home to just with my family.

Safety, trust & environment
I have a fenced back yard and my dog is always up for a play mate. When I walk neighborhood dogs, I like to find out how their pet parent walks them (with harness or collar, with treats or no treats etc.) and keep to the routine. I always make sure everything is secure and left as I found it before leaving.
A typical day
I like to see what the dogs I watch like to do. Usually when dogs visit here they play and wrestle all day. When I walk a dog, or provide breaks I like to follow their lead. Sniffs, speedy walks, quick potty breaks, belly rubs or all of the above. A good play session after a walk seems to be the sweet spot for a lot of the dogs we watch.
