Hi! I’m a lifelong pet person who grew up with a whole host of cats and dogs. I love all pets but my favorites are big dogs and old cats — I have a 21 year old cat and a French Mastiff back home. My background as a teacher, nanny, house manager, and personal assistant means I’m reliable, organized, and great at keeping routines smooth. I’m happy to share references and I love meet & greets to make sure it’s a perfect fit. Can’t wait to meet you and your furry family!

When I care for pets in your home, I focus on keeping them comfortable, relaxed, and never feeling alone. I spend time with them in common spaces so they can get used to me. If they’re comfortable, I let pets sleep in my room at night so they don’t feel lonely or miss their owners too much. Safety is a top priority for me—I never take dogs outside a fenced yard without a leash, even if they’re well trained, and I’m very careful with doors and entryways (I know all the kitty-proof tricks to prevent curious cats from sneaking out). I enjoy playing with pets who are able, I’m very clean and tidy, quick to handle messes, and I treat your home with care. I also send regular updates and photos so you can relax while you’re away.

With Hennessey I had every confidence my kitties and home were in good hands -- and I relaxed and had a great trip. Hennessey communicates very well, asks good questions, and seems to genuinely enjoy the little ones. During her stay she let me know when there was a minor kitty health concern. I came home to a beautifully clean house --- really helpful with jet lag. I would be happy to have her back another time.

Henn is such a sweetie. She’s watched our pets and house sat several times for us. She is always on time and sends the perfect number of updates to let us know what is going on without bothering us while we’re away. The dogs never want her to leave!

Schedule
My law school classes start in the late morning and are spread throughout the day, which gives me flexibility for morning visits, midday check-ins, and walks. For clients in Charlottesville, I’m able to come back to the home between classes, so pets aren’t left alone for long stretches.
