I currently work 10hr shifts Thursdays-Saturdays and every other Wednesdays, and I am also am actor so sometimes I will need evenings and weekends free. In short, since moving back to Portland from New York I am currently only available on Rover part-time, but if you are in the neighborhood and still need a helping hand please feel free to reach out all the same and I'll see if I'm available!

In a client's home I like to be as unobtrusive as possible, and would love to know your pets favorite places to hang out or hide so that I don't disturb their routine too much. In addition, it is my experience that every pet has their own personality, and if there's anything about yours that you want to tell me, please don't hesitate to do so! I love friendly and attention seeking pets, but I also have experience living with animals who want and need their space, and I want to respect whatever their needs may be.

I love all breeds and sizes, but I unfortunately experienced a minor dog attack from a few years ago and would appreciate a heads up if your dog has a tendency to jump or rush at new people. I don't mind being jumped on - unless you're trying to train them not to do it! - as long as I'm prepared for it. If there's any additional special care that your dog needs please also let me know ahead of time so that we can determine if I'm qualified to provide any special care.

I love taking dogs on simplified but new routes each time, giving both of us the chance to explore something different. And once they're down for the count, I'm perfectly happy relaxing alongside them with a good book.

I've lived with dogs since the age of 7, and have always taken part in caring for them on a basic level - walking, feeding, etc. - as well as showing them affection and attention. I am comfortable and have experience with dogs of all sizes but am especially fond of large dogs - both dogs I grew up with were labs. I love simply being in a dog's company, and I believe that getting to know and adjust to a dog's personality is an important aspect of taking care of them. In addition to my experience with dogs, I have also cat-sat for extended periods of time (up to three months), both in my own home and in the owner's, and also taken part in caring for the cats I lived with in New York. While I didn't know how to act around cats as a kid I've become very used to them (especially in my transition to small apartment life), and have grown to appreciate their - sometimes - calmer temperament.

Helena is the best! Very sweet and caring. Gave great updates on how my kitty was doing and was very attentive to his needs! Cannot recommend Helena enough!
Helena was amazing with my two animals. I have a senior dog and teenager cat, and they did a great job attending to both of their needs. Helena made sure to send me plenty of photos, and communication was perfect. I will be hiring them for overnight stays again!
