Snuggles, Vibes, & Adventures.

Hello! I’m Helen, my fur baby Leia and I will be your pet's concierge and partners in crime. I specialize in in-home boarding and daily drop-in visits, with a huge passion for leash and reactivity training and working with pups that are picky eaters! For pups that need more than a place to stay or a basic feed and potty check-in visit, I provide peaceful, fun, private care. My home is a clean sanctuary, full of natural light, music vibing in the background, fresh air coming through the open windows, and the door to my fenced deck always open, providing plenty of sunny spots to lounge. There is an abundance of daily walks, couch naps, training enrichment, hikes, and dog-friendly field trips. I host one guest family at a time to provide close attention. I have 30 years of raising and loving dogs, cats, and the occasional sugar glider. I am a newly empty nester, so my fur baby (Leia) has become my adventure buddy and absolute joy. My son told me he needed me to get a hobby when he moved, so I took my passion for animals and wanting Leia to have friends, and started Rover over three years ago. And it's been a blast. Leia has a car seat, her own luggage, and her meals take longer to prepare than my own. That should give you an idea of how I value the privilege of having animals. I believe dogs deserve to see and experience the world just like we do, from adventures to good health and good food, I want your pets to have the best quality of life possible. Leia, loves hanging out and playing with new friends. She is oddly good at matching a guest dog’s energy and helping shy dogs feel comfortable. I also have two cats who don’t acknowledge any dog’s existence. I'd love for your pup to join our pack while you’re out in the world. And help you give them an amazing life.

We had a wonderful experience! She was attentive from the very first message and happy to do a meet & greet before booking, which gave us real peace of mind. You can tell she genuinely cares about the dogs she looks after. Joujou was in great hands. Highly recommend

My husky loves staying with Helen and her little Leia and cat. She's great to respond and send pictures. Helen also walks him every day, something most sitters do not do. Cheers!

She was suchhhhh a big help. Our boy a pitbull with anxiety and for most he can be quite intimidating but they were über responsive, caring, and thoughtful throughout our whole time away from our dog. I cannot emphasize enough what a great job they did helping us care for our fur baby. Would recommend to anyone and everyone looking for walker/sitter

We cannot recommend Helen highly enough. She consistently spends 15–20 minutes longer with our two dogs than we pay for, simply because she genuinely cares about them. Every visit includes clean food and water bowls, detailed notes about how they did, and videos that let us see just how happy and comfortable they are. The biggest difference, though, is the peace of mind she gives us. In the last five years, I’ve never been able to go on vacation without worrying about my dogs. This was the first trip where I truly felt at ease because I knew they were being loved and cared for as if they were her own. She doesn’t just do the job—she goes above and beyond in every possible way. It’s rare to find someone who genuinely over-cares, but that’s exactly who she is. Our dogs absolutely adore her, and we feel incredibly lucky to have found someone we trust completely. If you’re looking for someone who will treat your pets like family, Helen is your girl.

Safety, trust & environment

I have a very short list of people I trust with my fur babies. I want to know they are not being treated as a chore but truly enjoyed. When your pup is in my care, I keep a watchful eye on their moods, body language, eating and bathroom patterns, etc. If something ever feels off, I’ll reach out and communicate with you right away. I take extra note of how they are settling in for the first few days and will work with you to get them adjusted. I like to keep all the animals in eyesight, to ensure everyone is accounted for and comfortable. Leia follows me everywhere, so where she goes the other dogs follow suit. I change out water fountains daily (using filtered water from the fridge), and have multiple running water fountain stations throughout the house. I sweep and vacuum every two days so pups don’t have access to anything unsafe on the floor. My city requires dogs to be on leash in public areas, and I personally feel safest keeping your dog leashed during our potty breaks and walks. I do have a fenced yard, but there is no locking gate, so dogs are only allowed out there with I am present. I have a fun dog splash pad the pups enjoy in the summer that we play with a lot. I generally avoid dog parks due to my concerns around illness and unpredictable behavior from unfamiliar dogs. I regularly meet up with well-socialized dog pup friends for backyard playdates. There is a park directly across the street, and a huge school field less than a block away that is great for play.

Pets

A typical day

My fur babies are the center of my routine, so it's seamless to fold your pup into our flow. This is what your dog's overall stay and average day looks like: We take potty walks every 2-3 hours. We go on 3–4 potty walks a day (15–20 minutes each). We do a long walk first thing in the morning and end with a wind-down stroll in the evening. We start each morning with potty and breakfast. We then head out for a “Training Walk” around the neighborhood where we work on leash training and non-reactivity. After our walk, we hang out on the deck, cuddled up in the papasan chair while I do a little work or read. Weather permitting, I keep the door to the fenced deck open so dogs can come in and out, sunbathe and watch the world go by. I have calm jazz or low-fi beats on during the day. We love field trips! For pups with energy and confidence, on warm days, we will head out on an early morning hike. We take a pup cup trip once a week. And I’m always discovering new dog-friendly patios and spots around town so your pup can explore with us. Dogs are never kenneled unless it’s specifically requested or something they personally need for comfort. Dogs sleep in the bedroom with me and Leia. They can sleep either on the bed with us or on a dog bed nearby. If they prefer to sleep in their kennel we put the kennel in the room with us. I close my bedroom door at night so there’s no wandering after lights out.
